hey thanks for reading and taking the time to comment Andy. i think it's important to not think of it as a boastful thing to do, but more as a way to deliver your finely crafted words and phrases to your audience in a new format for them to enjoy. i think sometimes beautiful and meaningful lyrics can be lost in a song, so this can help shine the light on ones which might be overlooked....

hey thanks for taking the time to read and comment Ned. i like your insight on this piece. what you've said is definitely one take-away... another spin on it is and appeal to shed away the layers of conformity we dress ourselves in, if what we're doing appears to be untrue to who we really are.

Hey thanks for the comment. I am so much happier being unaware of the depressing news the media focusses on. Like you, I fill my mind with positivity now, and it has vastly improved my day to day happiness. Regarding important news and breaking events, you'd be surprised how much you are still aware of things as they happen through word of mouth on the street or work etc, passing by a newsbox and reading a headline, and seeing things scroll pass you on Facebook and Twitter. It's been a year without news or TV and I believe I'm as well-informed as ever before.

Great additional points Matt, I totally agree with all of them. I've been a redditor for over 4 years now, but I mainly lurk, and because of that, I've never had any traction whenever I've tried to share my own articles. As the post says, it's definitely a community first... and closely guarded one at that. Which is why it's also so powerful...
