Mark, you\\\'ve had some great experiences! Very fun...The Hippos site had obviously had some preliminary excavation done but looked as though it had remained very limited. Funding probably ran out. The vistas alone are worth the trip up there! We were also able to find the Herodian palace in Jericho. Very difficult to find but completely untouched, in the middle of a farm. The farmer seemed a little pleased that we would be interested in something on his land...

It's really strikingly beautiful there in Galilee. And yes, those glowing glass pieces are stylized water. The display is pretty impressive. They even have a platform that extends out over the fragile boat for closer observations and study. I hope you have a chance to visit one day...
