Remember when BoA bought Countrywide? I do. No one forced that deal.

The collapse of IndyMac got the housing fall rolling? That was summer 2008. The housing market was dead by summer 2007. The big banks were just able to hold on until fall 2008. Schumer's actions regarding IndyMac were reckless, but IndyMac was in such bad shape that their demise was only a matter of time.

Government helped create dangerous conditions, but lenders acted largely on their own accord. And to say dems planned the destruction is one of the stupidest things I've ever read. You really think some hack Senators had the foresight to see what their policies would cause?

I certainly hope that's how most conservatives see it. It's just frustrating to see articles and comments praising Reagan's two terms as some sort of conservative ideal.

So if Romney has a Dem congress will he also get a free pass in your book? Reagan fans get too nostalgic and delusional to see him as the flawed president he was. Reagan's budgets were only marginally smaller than the ones requested by congress.

Another Reagan presidency is exactly what we need. We need a guy with some balls to come into office saying he's going to balance the budget, and then triple our federal debt in eight years. Brilliant.

So what does that eye of a needle quote mean? Because Jesus seemed to be referring to all rich people, without regard to how or why the wealth was amassed.

So when Jesus said it is very difficult for a rich man to get into heaven he was only referring to ones that place their wealth as more important than God? So Jesus was exaggerating for effect? And even though he said don't store up treasure here on earth, doing so is just fine?
