This measure is aiming directly at the right to collectively bargain and goes beyond teachers as well. Although I'm not union, and there are instances when I see it manipulated to it's fullest capacity, I certainly see a clear need for it and appreciate the standards that it's set forth in my current working environment. Regardless of whether you're union or not...what working person would think the right to negotiate and bargain is bad? Of the endless number of things that can be done to cut a state budget, not to mention one that's in far better shape than most, it seems very short sided and agenda driven. I wonder how many of those protesters thought Feingold wasn't doing his job well enough and took the bait this last election? It's called a redshirt. You get 4 years of eligibility to play sports, but every athlete (at least at a division where it makes since to hang around an extra year) has this opportunity to redshirt, which entails an additional year (academically) to complete your degree. Athletes aren't exclusive to taking longer than 4 years to complete a degree, and they've got an excuse that happens like clockwork every weekday from 2-6 pm, and all day Saturday. And that's just the minimum time committment...double or triple that committment on your own if you want to be any good.
