Lemmings the movie.

Pixars first R-rated movie, which will attempt to reach out to adults and indie/art house audiences.

A coming of age story about a precocious lemming, teen who doesn't feel like he fits in among his kind. He is going through a severe existential crisis.
He feels different than his friends and he has problems at home.
Lemming society is a dark dystopian world, where overpopulation soon will trigger an epic mass suicide.
No matter how hard he tries he can't grasp the urge for self-extinction his fellow lemmings all share.
He coincidentally runs into a female lemming who happens to be as alienated and precocious as he is.
Together they escape and go on a road trip, which initially will be a journey of self-discovery and life lessons.
On their trip they encounter both wise and crazy lemmings who will open their eyes to deeper truths about life.
They run into several obstacles and whatever other indie movie clichés you could possibly imagine.
On their journey they fall in love and their journey climaxes in a tender love scene which happens after they have a lengthy talk about their lessons learned.
In the end they except their natural instincts and return to their hometown.
But, as they arrive the lemmings have started their mass suicide.
There is dead bodies everywhere and lemmings are killing themselves "Happening style".
The young couple realize they are the only ones left and the movie ends with an emotional scene where we pan across millions of dead lemmings and end on the main lemming looking at his dead family.
At this moment we know he has just come to terms with his kinds bizarre instincts.
Him and his girl are now responsible for breeding new generations of Lemmings.
They both know they have to raise their kids to believe in what they have just learned.

The movie will contain several acts of violence, lots of blood and a sex scene.

The movie should be directed by Darren aronofsky because of his sense of realism grittiness and ability to make a new sort of dark animated movie.
Other choices would be Todd Zolonds, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Gus van Sant, Lars Von Trier or Chan Wook Park.

The voice of the precocious Lemming should be done by the now grownup Haley Joel Osment.
This will be his comeback role and hopefully frustration created by his lack of resent success will manifest itself in his performance and ad some gravitas and realism to his character.

The female lead should be fast talking Ellen Page.
She will add some extra indie cred, and she seems to be the goto girl when looking to portray precocious teens.
