It\'s really sad when someone has had all the benefits of home schooling- like having your belief system completely sheltered from the caustic exposure of other ideas- and then suddenly have to be thrust into a world where people disagree with you. One really has to extend not sympathy, but flat-out pity to Mr. Takala and his kind. Truly they are a pitiable lot.

This should sink Awada\'s candidacy. Sadly, it won\'t.

You mean, he can dodge, not provide any real leadership or solutions, and come out smelling like roses. Good reasons to not vote for him- thanks.

I\'m just going to completely ignore reality and say this chart shows a clear sign of America\'s slip into socialism.

\"Everyone on the left is talking extremes of common traffic stops where the police officer will have to make a judgement call on what he requires for immigration identification if he is suspicious\"

Everyone on the left?

[Marco Rubio] said he was particularly concerned about the Arizona law’s “reasonable suspicion provisions, where individuals can be pulled over because someone suspects they may not be legal in this country.”

I wish I were more optismistic that hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty had a negative impact on one\'s political success, but Michele Bachman and Sarah Palin.

\"And he entirely missed the mark of what Thune was saying. He was flat out wrong.\"

This is flat out wrong.

By the way, good work once again deflecting the topic from...the topic, \"moderate\".

Am I wrong or is the gist of this article that politicians lack political courage?

1) Stevens was a moderate, not a liberal. The Supreme Court has moved to the right since he joined.

2) The Republicans will Filibuster. Snowe and Collins (and likely Brown) will fall in line just like they did before, regardless of whether or not the candidate is moderate or liberal. The Republicans will give them room to appear \"moderate\" or \"independent\" to improve their electoral prospects in their home states, but in the end they will join the monolithic Republican front.

3) InTrade should post NOW, prior to anyone being named as a SC prospect, whether or not the Republicans will filibuster. I\'m sure the odds would guess pretty much as I have: assume a filibuster, believe there isn\'t one when you see it.

4) \"Activist\" is and always will be a smokescreen. Conservatives believe that they have a monopoly on the Constitution...as if the Supreme Court is not a necessity since what is \"Constitutional\" is beyond interpretation. Then they defend torture.

So why are those lawyers able to sue about the prisoners at Gitmo? The people doing the suing are suing the government over a policy that think is unwise and bad

......

Ummm...no. They\'re suing due to the questionable constitutionality of deciding by fiat that certain individuals do not have unalienable rights.

Duh.
