Laws that require older people to take a few tests and what not are no different then testing young people. Plus they do not have to be as complex. Just a review to make sure they are all there. Same thing should be done with any mentally handicap people that are younger or people that have had a lot of trouble in the past with violations. When I am in my seventies if I can not pass the test...okay...I don't drive. I shouldn't drive. If I feel like I need to drive I need to retake it then. Not all old people are bad drivers, but a large number of them are.

I was being facetious seriously come on. Younger people vote too, btw. Increased reviewing and testing of older people in order to drive makes sense. The same way that we test younger people to drive. IE If you are 75 or older you should pass a quick rudimentary drivers test before being granted your license again. Doesn't have to be exhaustive. Just make sure they aren't driving 60 on the highway (causing accidents because they are too cautious) and turning into lanes without signalling or looking. And YES you can be too cautious of a driver....sure you will be fine....but what about everyone around you? Going too slow below the limit and causing people going the actual speed of traffic to have to swerve or brake dangerously, etc. This is just one of many examples where this is a problem.

That's true. But voting is a far less complicated then keeping your car the road. You are more prone to making mistakes on the road as an old person because you have to think fast. Something most elderly people do not still have the ability to do as they did when they were younger. There should be increased testing on older people as someone mentioned below.

Old people are a bigger problem then texting and driving. Why don't we ban them..... btw people read, it was a ford fusion, although I guess that could have been added later...
