Big Hollywood : Exclusive Photos: Michael Moore's Massive Michigan Vacation Mansion Beyond 99 Percent's Wildest Drea

i get your point and the OWS movement contains hundreds of thousands of people with different ideas. maybe some of them want communism, i haven't gone down and talked to any of them. my point again is that it isn't rigged across the board. it's just rigged for the well connected. maybe there are some that want to do away with the entire system. not me. i'm a supporter of OWS but also a supporter of capitalism. i just want to see more fairness in our society, more fairness in our capitalism and i see glaring signs that our system isn't fair when i see wall street CEO's making record salaries when these same CEO's are responsible for the destruction of our economy. you can't blame the OWS'ers for sticking out their hand and saying "where's my bailout?" if the rich stick out their hand and ask for a bailout when times get tough, the poor should be able to too.

i would consider myself to be supportive of OWS or a "liberal" but i don't want to prevent you or anyone in the country from expressing their point of view simply because i disagree with it. i think people are understandably pissed off that corporations keep cutting middle class jobs and sending the jobs overseas while the CEO's of corporations keep getting pay increases. even the CEO's on wall street that did a poor job at their trade still live excessive, luxurious lifestyles despite doing a poor job. that's unamerican. in america, if you work hard and perform well you are supposed to ascend. if you fail to do a good job, you are suppose to fall. how come the CEO's responsible for crashing our economy in 2008 didn't fall? people feel like the current system is rigged and that's why people are pissed off.

the system isn't rigged across the board. life is not black and white. michael moore, bill gates, even people i loathe like rush limbaugh, earned their money. they provided a service to society and people used their service and thus they ascended. the CEO's on wall street are a different story. they did a poor job. instead of failing like any of us would have failed if we had tried to open a small business and did a poor job, when times got tough they called their employees they put into office (US congressmen) and said "give me a billion dollars or i'll blow out the brains of the US economy". they stole money from you and me! it isn't right. OWS'ers are liberals that want to see more social services from the government; paid from higher taxes on the rich. that's a philosophical argument i'm sure you and i are at polar opposites on but for the moment, can't we agree that the way wall street is immune to the threats that the common small business owner faces is unfair and wrong?

i don't think it comes down to "you have more money than me and it's not fair". it comes down to "you destroyed our economy in 2008, did a poor job at your trade, unemployment is 9.2% but you're still wealthy because our current economic system is rigged". if you do poorly, you are suppose to fail. you're not suppose to receive a bailout at the expense of the american taxpayer and then give yourself a bonus.

i agree, kudos to Lloyd for using his brain instead of mindlessly clamoring in the streets. i don't think it's fair to say "the majority" are acting outlandishly, though i don't doubt there's a few wackos in the OWS group just looking for something to do. i think the whole "we are the 99%" slogan was poorly selected. it confuses people and is unproductive. bill gates did a good job and deserves to be wealthy. michael moore made entertaining movies people chose to see and deserves to be wealthy. it isn't about people having money or being rich. it's about the people that crashed our economy not being held accountable and still enjoying an opulent lifestyle despite doing a poor job. take care my friend, keep up the good fight and keep participating in civil discussion, it's healthy for us all.

thank you for the link to a page where the first sentence is "this is not an official list of demands" and it's signed by some dude named Lloyd. so some dude named Lloyd posted a blog and you now refer to it as the list of demands by OWS, a collective of hundreds of thousands of people across the globe. hmmm......

they need their own website where their desires are listed. not some distorted list on a far right conservative site for wackos that believe the president was born in kenya, and is a muslim and a nazi and hates ice cream and babies. a real website that would appeal to real people that live their lives based in reality.

people sure seemed confused about OWS, i think the movement really needs some centralization of ideas, organization, a website where their beliefs are clearly stated. too many people don't understand that the movement isn't black and white, rich vs. poor; it's about holding the people on wall street that destroyed the US economy in 2008 accountable. you shouldn't do a poor job at your job, be bailed out (steal taxpayer money, my money, your money), and then be worth hundreds of millions of dollars a few years later while everyone else is out of a job. it's a symptom that our capitalistic society isn't working the way it was supposed to work. i don't think that means all capitalism is bad, it just isn't working the way it used to work in the 50's and 60's. people were supposed to be rewarded when they do good for society. now people are rewarded even when they perform poorly for society. this shows that the game is rigged. politicians are nothing more than employees of corporations. they stole money from us, the american taxpayer, and gave it to their owners. that's why people are pissed off and it makes sense.

i'm pretty sure amongst any group of people since the beginning of man there have been a few idiots. people should look past that regarding OWS, the same way i look past the morons with pictures of Obama and a Hitler mustache at tea party rallies. you shouldn't tune out to a movement or a message because you've seen a few idiots hanging around. i agree with you that this OWS isn't a movement against "the rich", it's a movement against "the rich that didn't earn it" or "rich people that earned their money through immoral means".

maybe i'm off base here but i never thought the argument was "everyone that is rich is evil". from my understanding, the occupy wall street movement isn't a mindless movement of the poor against the wealthy as conservative news entertainment channels would lead you to believe. i don't see anyone targeting warren buffett or bill gates or steven spielberg (all massively wealthy individuals). it's a movement against those that profited off and played a central role in the 2008 collapse of our economy (goldman sachs, bank of america, AIG). it's a movement to call out the hypocrisy of those that demand the government slash spending but supported 3 trillion dollars in war "spending" over the past decade. if you hate government spending so much, why weren't you fighting to save us all 3 TRILLION dollars over the past decade in war spending?!?! it's also a movement to support higher taxes on the wealthy in this country so we can provide our fellow citizens with health care, better roads, education, unemployment insurance, and higher pay for our troops, believe me, they deserve it. one of my best friends from college served in Iraq for 18 months, he made peanuts in exchange for getting shot at on a daily basis. wall street CEO's make $50 million dollars a year to destroy our economy and the guy checking cars in Iraq to make sure they aren't laced with explosives gets 30K a year and no job support when he returns home. i'm sure despite whichever side of the aisle you consider yourself to be on, that should piss you off.

michael moore is overweight. hahaha. that's very substantive to talk about. lloyd blankfein is worth $450 million dollars and is accumulating more wealth and you or someone you know is going to be fired soon. one guy helps destroy the economy, gets a couple hundred million dollars, another one works his ass off and gets fired. that's the real joke.

let me get this straight, if you're doing well and you're a millionaire, you're not allowed to say that people at your income level or above aren't paying enough back into the society that they've benefited from? you're not allowed to say that it's wrong for CEO's to have dramatic increases in salary while middle class workers are increasingly being let go? you have to turn your mind off if you have money is the message. that message doesn't resonate with me.
