We want to again remind everyone that the www.votenader.org blog comment policy is posted above and below in yellow:

"Note: By submitting your comments you acknowledge that Nader for President 2008 has the right to reproduce, broadcast and publicize those comments or any part thereof in any manner whatsoever. Please note that due to the volume of comments we receive, not all comments will be published and it may take several hours for your comments to be reviewed, and those that are published will not be edited. But all will be carefully read, considered and appreciated.

Your comment will be visible to you (and only you) after you post it, at which point it is queued for consideration and no longer visible. Please refrain from submitting your comments multiple times."

Thanks.

Hi there Glassbooth fans,

Many apologies for the slow response. We’ve been overwhelmed by requests for information from supporters and the media. It’s all very exciting (but hard to keep up with!).

I’ve forwarded this request to the research team and they will be in touch shortly.

Best,

Phillip.

Hi Kathleen. I thought it might be interesting to you that a couple of the members of the Nader Team are Canadians. Personally, I discovered I wasn't feeling well yesterday, phoned my doctor, and now have an appointment for 4 p.m. today. When I moved to Canada to be with my partner, I was extremely excited about the health care system. I have had nothing but fantastic experiences to date. I firmly support Nader's stance on health care for America. My family back home in Missouri struggle daily to gain access to appropriate, affordable care. I do not have this struggle in Canada.

Hi Tyler,

Your post was not deleted. If you read our comment instructions (in the big, bold, yellow box above and below the comment form -- I know, it's kind of hard to see), you'll note that "Your comment will be visible to you (and only you) after you post it, at which point it is queued for consideration and no longer visible. Please refrain from submitting your comments multiple times."

Cheers,

Phillip.

Hi there Karin (et al),

Phillip here from the Web team. Please accept my humble apology for not getting back to you sooner. Shortly after the campaign was launched -- just a few weeks ago now -- we received an incredible (if not daunting) amount of support in the form of people writing in to us. Many supporters have asked for specifics on the issues, while others have asked about merchandise and signs, or for information on other ways to help the campaign.

We've been diligently responding to these requests as quickly and as thoroughly as we can. However, as of today, we are still far behind on our goal of getting back to everyone who has written to us.

Please know that we are here, and working hard to get you the information you need, and reading every one of your comments and suggestions. Many of those suggestions have been turned into plans that are now underway. And, over the coming weeks, we expect to be able to catch-up on our responses to each and every supporter.

Thanks so much for your patience and support. It's appreciated. :-)

Best,

Phillip.

Hi Sean,

Currently we do not require registration to comment, i.e. we're not asking for a valid e-mail address, or other personally identifiable information. That makes it easier for people to comment, but it also means that there is less accountability for those comments too. Most sites that allow unmoderated comments also require a registration of some kind.

We may revisit this decision in the future. And we'd be happy to hear your thoughts on requiring a valid e-mail address for comment posting access. Until then, the comment policy will remain in place.

Thanks for your thoughts. They are appreciated.

Best,

Phillip.

Dear Enough is Enough,

Thank you for your question. Fortunately, the large majority of comments have been thoughtful and positive.

Regarding "censorship" and deletion, the comment policy here is clear (and is highlighted in yellow at the top and bottom of the comment posting form):

"Please note that due to the volume of comments we receive, not all comments will be published and it may take several hours for your comments to be reviewed, and those that are published will not be edited."

We stand by this. The comment system is not here to provide a platform for hate speech or mindless rants. There's enough of that out there, should you wish to read it.

Those of us reviewing comments make our best effort to post comments that are both thoughtful and original in some way, even if they're not "supportive." We also have a soft spot for those who use proper spelling, punctuation, and capitalization, as it makes for a better reading experience overall.

Please consider this when posting, and have some patience, and you'll likely find your comments here.

Best,

Phillip
