Hello! I would say for an older child I would probably make the body piece 2-3 inches wider and 4-6 inches taller. The straps should be suitable at their current lengths.

I did use mine over the age of one, and it was perfectly acceptable, but as your child gets closer to the age of two-three you may find the body size a bit too small for comfort. So it really depends how long you'd like to keep using it.

The cutoff here is the 30th! Strange, but worked out for us. He's on the young side, but he's too damn smart to sit around doing nothing anymore. Gotta get that kid some book learnins.

I'm sure that might work? Honestly the padding is not very thick. It's just a comfort buffer, not like a giant padded puffball. Making the straps wider is a great idea for comfort, but I do still recommend the padding...
