All T&T government administration past and present won their election based on the issue of race (including the current administration – they claim to include all races). Trinbagonians should be ashamed of themselves. Everybody pointing fingers at each other. Look at yourself first! . Why is race such a big issue in T&T??? Disgusting!

Instead how about an investment to improve water retention in the already existing dam? You can start by improving our water catchment system by deepening our existing reservoirs and installing proper concrete wall/ structures to prevent future soil erosion and putting priority on maintenance of the water flow into these reservoirs.

While you are down there please make an appeal for our fishermen who are locked up in prisons. It is unfair.

Mrs Persad-Bissessar what about all of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transsexual) citizens that are constantly bullied, tormented and forced to live a life of secrecy in your country? You claim you want to bring gender equality to Trinidad and Tobago what about equality of all? Deal with the issue and stop denying the LGBT citizens of Trinidad and Tobago their basic rights.

Recently your government decided to abstain from voting in the United Nations policy to execute people who are gay. You know all of the problems that women face while trying to advance their lives in Trinidad and Tobago but have you considered the issues an LGBT citizen faces. Do you think if they were honest about their sexuality that they would get a fair chance of employment? The majority of times the average LGBT citizen in Trinidad and Tobago is forced to keep their sexuality a secret because they fear persecution at their jobs. Their sexuality should never be an issue at the work place.

It seems as though you are more about promoting yourself, your government and people of your gender.

My cousin and her son were among 6 people involved in a crash on the manzalinna/ mayaro stretch just Monday ( 15th Aug 2011) when a vehicle over-take and slammed into their Hilux Van. The driver died, his wife has a dislocated hip, his two sons suffered broken collar bone and nose. My cousin suffered a broken rib and fractured hip and her son battered and bruised. Everyone had cuts and bruises. What about the driver other who broke the law and over-take dangerously? He suffered minor cuts and bruises and was discharged from the hospital that same day. I want to see what type of charges if any will be laid against the driver and what will become of this court case if it does happen.
People in Trinidad need to obey the laws and drive safely. The father who died in this crash was the breadwinner of the family, I don't know how his wife is going to provide for her two sons now with a broken hip.

There should be new rules for the Chutney Soca Monarch 2012 competitions which should restrict lyrics on songs that glorify illegal drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, violence and sex. Also the remake of any existing songs for example Bollywood should also be prohibited.

Not only should Ravi B be banned from entering any further chutney soca monarch competitions but Southex should also file a criminal complaint against him for his behavior sending a clear message to all entertainers out there.

WE WANT NO MORE RUM SONGS!

All they (GLBT citizens of T&T) are asking for are equal rights and protection under the constitution of Trinidad and Tobago. They are hard working tax paying individuals too.

You mentioned that these people are “often wealthy and have big jobs”, where did you get this information from?

Being gay is not a choice, no individual would choose to go through the pain and embarrassment a GLBT person endures. Those who accuse gays of choosing their sexuality equates to the same as an individual accusing someone of African decent choosing to be black.
