Are you jaded or what? dc sounds like another one who has never put their name on a payroll check except maaaayyyyyybbbbeeee the back of it to cash it. How lucky those millions of people are who will never get the chance to see Obama in person. And more importantly, how lucky the small business owners are in the town that those millions of people live in. I'm sure this situation doesn't happen in every town. It's just a shame it happened here.
Yes owning a business can sometimes be ridiculous with all the desperate decisions you have to make sometimes daily. But it it not a laughing matter. And it is a very grown up and heroic act to own a business. Now tell us ljs just how old are you? Are you a business owner hero?
Nick it doesn'matter the party. Take $400-600 dollars this week out of your paycheck and throw it off one of the union Ave buildings. Would you be willing to sacrific this amount this week after you get paid? This is what you sound like to us NICK. "if it doesn't hurt me.... it doesn't hurt".
Trust us it hurts like heck. Your a very Jaded man if you think it has anything to do with party and not city planners. POO POO on you!
Tasha sounds like she's never put her name on a payroll check. Except maybe on the back to cash it.
Yes I would have the same camplaints if it was McCain! But it wasn't. The Democratic did the same thing to the businesses 4 years ago when John Kerry came to town. This is not treating the businesses with respect and dignity.
Union Ave is not a Podium for the few, but for all. You Val, must not have a business that depends on ESPECIALLY Friday and Saturday revenue. This is a serious issue for people that depend on the higher end days. Monday thru Thursday doesn't cut it! If you own a tourist shop or a Hairstyling shop then you know what I'm talking about. If you don't then you should! You would know what it feels like to lose that oh so important dollar to keep business rolling.. If you own a business that runs Monday thru Friday then no big deal...it's just a 1/2 day off for you. Yes I remember when the buildings where vacant. Do we want to see that happen again?
I totally support your view. I was a victim of the democatic and the city of Pueblo's thoughlessness 4 years ago. Word of advice "Plan for this same antics in 4 more years".
I was asked to leave the area by 5:00 at 4:30 on a Friday and not allowed back untl 5:00 pm on Satuday. I'm a hairdresser...My total loss in revenue was approx $400 and that doesn't include the people I could have booked in at the last minute. Good luck and let's not let this happen again.
This happened to me when John Kerry came to town. I had no warning that my business had to close down until Friday night at about 4:00 pm when I was told I had to leave the area by 5:00 pm for the bomb sweepers. My clients had to be cancelled Friday night and Saturday. I lost a total of approx. $400 and it really hurt, since I was a single mother raising kids. I'm convinced that Obama wouldn't care if you put him in the middle of a field to campain here, but the people who like to show off the most in this town run the show in the Union Ave depot. Why not have it at the State Fair Grounds like before. No business would be affected. This will happen again and again and again so my advice ...move to a more friendlier enviroment besides the Union Ave district. I took my bussiness as far away as possible from the union ave. area and I don't support it because I still hold a grudge about this issue. And I hold the the Koncilas and the democratic office responsible. It's wrong ,wrong, wrong. There are other places in this town to do this type of campaining without hurting any business. I just can't say this enough.
