Atomic Toasters : What Ever Became of...CB Radio?

Cell phones took a lot of the magic away from CB radio (and amateur radio as well, the dozens of 2 meter repeaters around here in the DC area might as well be powered off since nobody uses them anymore), but even today having a CB on a long cross country road trip is a never ending source of hilarity.

I remember when Prodigy started charging for email (One free message per day, then 25 cents each!). Right about the same time, GEnie announced flat pricing, email included. Cue the mass exodus. There was even a "Prodigy Refugees" forum on GEnie. Good times.

Atomic Toasters : Startup: 100 Years of Awesome

Carried a bunch of trendy big name stuff over the years, invariably go back to the good ol 230 grain Hydra-Shok. At the range, tons of Magtech FMJ. It's good, cheap, and dirty. In the end what really matters is who has the faster and more accurate shot placement. I figure trigger time with el cheapo FMJ is a more worthwhile investment than the latest EXTREME SHOCK!!1 ammo.

Am I correct in assuming the Canadian Armed Forces are still issued the 1911s close relative, the Browning Hi-Power? Also, pro tip: never take macro photographs of your expensive guns, you'll discover tons of dings and scratches you'd be better off not knowing about.

Atomic Toasters : Startup: Need. Moar. Coffee.

I work at a coffee company and have tried everything under the sun. 60mm pods, Keurig K-Cups, Flavia filterpacks, Tassimo t-discs, you name it and we make it and/or sell it. The best coffee we have starts as Supremo grade green Colombian Arabica beans, roasted in our own facility to somewhere between light and medium, medium-coarse grind, and brewed through a Newco commercial drip brewer with the water right around 200F. Great by itself or as a foundation for whatever foofy coffee-based beverage you prefer. Not a fan of most of the single cup brewers. Most of them don't use enough coffee and you get a really weak cup. Almost all of the flavored ones are garbage. Pods are a lot more flexible in this regard, you can get a genuinely good cup of coffee with them. Never really drank coffee before I started working here. Good thing I don't work in a brewery.
