It might seem all right when you joined, but it sure wasn't like that before. When the trailers for EG came out, I saw a comment on here regarding suicide bombing Hasbro's HQ. Another one asked for a shotgun. I've heard of death threats being sent to staff over Equestria Girls. I've seen a bonfire of comic books in my neighbourhood regarding Twilicorn in the IDW comics, and I've seen people violently rip the wings off their Build-a-Bear Twilight plushes. Oh, I have seen people at war over their love triangles in this fandom too. I've seen people stop their fanfics because many people sent hateful messages (particularly ones regarding Twilight/Flash Sentry and Applajack/Rainbow Dash). And I know for a fact that not everyone in this Fandom just "brushes their hooves off and gets on with their lives". There are people still seething over that C&D; heck, there are still people seething over Derpygate. This Fandom is great, no doubt about it. But if you look past the surface and deeper at all the nitty-gritty, it's really just like all the other fandoms out there (Although I WILL concede that it is a tad more civil in certain situations than a lot of the other fandoms out there). I wish people would realise this and not put this Fandom on such a high pedestal above others; that every fandom has its goods and bads out there, and that even in the the best Fandoms there are nasty, unpleasant people, just as in most craziest Fandoms, there are good, wholesome people. I am in two minds about it. Not because of the thing itself. On one hand, I think that all the drama it caused was utterly ridiculous. Sure, it was all right for someone to not like the concept and all that, but we had people deride and degrade other people for liking it, and that was horrible. I mean, it's not right for people to insult other people and call them fools just for liking what they don't. On the other hand, though, I think people who didn't like Equestria Girls should have done more to get other people aware that this was apparently a bad thing. From what I heard, the toys did very well and I believe actually outsold Monster High stuff for a while.
