"Branstad’s two-year budget plan called for cutting the state corporate income tax in half" to the tune of 200 MILLION dollars. Then he cuts 28 million from our universities, and 28 million from our preschools. Thanks a lot. Take away education and give the big corporations all that money saved and then some. Sounds fabulous. Definitely mixed opinions about this, as I dont want them to just spend this money fixing potholes and roll it into their general budget, but I also think the WEST side of the river deserves just as much flood protection as the east, and the government hasnt come up with any money to help with that.... This just may be our ticked to help the community for the long run. Please, council, show us concrete plans on exactly what you want to do with our money.
