Big Hollywood : BREAKING: American Airlines Releases Statement: Alec Baldwin Rude to Crew, Used 'Offensive Language'

The way this story was reported on the Today Show it appeared to be an advert for the game Baldwin was playing on his offending device and made me think it was all a publicity stunt to advertise the game and turn it into another Angry Birds. Someone should look into any connections between the game makers, Baldwin, NBC, and the Today Show reporter because it was either really poor reporting or really good pr.

Big Government : Occupy Protests Continue to Use Human Shields

Why haven't I seen anyone talk about their use of books as shields (or more as props) to allow them to cry fowl when their "People's Library" gets confiscated and damaged. If they cared anything about books they would house them properly. Instead they call for "book donations" (code for "all your junk books you don't want") pile them up in boxes like so much trash on the street and then cry "police state" when they get cleared out. And all kinds of people are chiming in about the sancrosanct nature of the "People's Library" which was no more than a pile of used books nobody wanted the likes of which you can find every weekend occupying people's yard sales.

I am more than secure in my masculinity to read this or any other purported 'chick-lit' book. I'm so secure I can even read 'romance novels' and 'bodice rippers'. And what makes me more than secure? I read them on my wife's Kindle and I just tell her I don't know how those books got on there.

Big Hollywood : Wonder Woman Reboot: Strident Feminism Is the Problem, Not the Costume

I never quite got the idea behind Wonder Woman. I think a good reboot would be to have her look like Pat from SNL, she would be a hero who got her name because you always kinda had to wonder if that was a woman or a dude.

If it were a novel about a floating baby then I'd go with #3, but since it is a compilation of humorous pieces (right?) I'm going to have to say #4. It puts it right out there that it is going to be funny and it grabs your attention with the type and the cartoon. If this book is going to go into stores you don't have time for subtle. Save subtle for something else, like something where subtle would be useful. Can't think of what that would be, but you know what I mean. UPDATE: Mixed up the headings. I think they were too subtle. So, yeah, #3! Light saber through the head for the win!

I still love a good punk rock song - especially my own www.musicalfamilytree.com/band/musical_suicide - but my biggest gripe with most punks is they started out punk and ended up hippies because they didn't realize punk wasn't a lifestyle or even a social movement.
