I agree. Not under contract = services not needed. The school board is acting in good faith and clearly has the needs of the students in mind, or else the teachers wouldn't be getting paid for their services. The district should ask for eligible patrons(parents, community members, etc.) to be emergency substitutes for a day. Pay them whatever the going rate is for substitute teachers. Lock the teachers out, or ask them to be their own substitutes and pay them accordingly. Teachers unions think that districts can just print money, or that our economy operates on skittles and unicorn poots!

I agree with the #1 characteristic- juiciness. No amount of extras or other characteristics can overcome a dry burger. Next, would have to be architecture. Nobody wants a burger that falls apart or doesn't feel right in your hands. And please, never ever eat a burger with a knife and fork. Ever.

Thank you for the heads up. We've tweaked the site a bit, so you should be able to view the articles better. Browsershots.org is great for testing these types of things.

Carly,

You're right. I went back and listened to the video more closely. I didn't catch his exact words the first time, so I apologize if I misrepresented his statements re: the size of Guam. But, my point is, either he is making a joke (which he claimed to be doing) and it's inappropriate to be joking at that moment, or he really is clueless. Either way, it's not something he should brag about.

The most likely items to have high fructose corn syrup in them are the fries, and any condiments you may have had (catsup, mustard, etc.) Also, if you had any breads at all (appetizer, post meal) the HFCS could have been in those items too. Some restaurants are starting to move away from HFCS and use alternatives such as cane sugar for this reason.

While I'm a conservative Christian, and I don't agree with the gay lifestyle, I think that it is absolutely abhorrent that gays are being executed for their lifestyle choice. Christian conservatives need to realize that opposing the slaughter of gay individuals doesn't equate to a support of that lifestyle. All it means is that we respect the sanctity of life, no matter how young or how old. Being killed for a lifestyle choice is never acceptable. What if someday Christians are killed for their lifestyle choices?

The Scriptures dealt with this issue in the book of John, Chapter 8, when Jesus said to the Pharisees, "He who is without sin, let him throw the first stone." Then, and many Christians tend to forget this, Jesus said to the woman, "I don't condemn you. Go and sin no more."

In my opinion, aggressive gay rights activists like Perez Hilton make Christian conservatives less likely to speak out on these issues. I think that Christian conservatives are very tolerant, but as Reagan puts it: "...[the gay movement] isn’t just asking for civil rights; it’s asking for recognition and acceptance of an alternative lifestyle which I do not believe society can condone, nor can I.”

I think that sums up the feelings of many Christian conservatives.

Your story reminds me of the movie "Stroke of Genius". The inventor of intermittent wipers sues Ford Motor Co. in the 60s because they stole his idea. He didn't see a dime in compensation until the late 70s when the court system found in his favor.

You know, Amendment I of our Constitution (wonder if anybody in government has read it...) grants 'the people' the right "to petition the government for a redress of grievances". Unfortunately, these days, 'the people' seems to be defined as large corporations, lawyers, lobbyists, and their ilk. I hope you are successful, and I'll be following your story.
