You're right. I went back and listened to the video more closely. I didn't catch his exact words the first time, so I apologize if I misrepresented his statements re: the size of Guam. But, my point is, either he is making a joke (which he claimed to be doing) and it's inappropriate to be joking at that moment, or he really is clueless. Either way, it's not something he should brag about.
16 years ago @ Big Government - So if I start using this manual to organize Conservative groups in my community, would I still be allowed to criticize ACORN? It's a dad-gum catch 22! Why reinvent the wheel? ACORN obviously knows how to extort, err.., persuade unwilling people to further their cause. It's genius.

The Scriptures dealt with this issue in the book of John, Chapter 8, when Jesus said to the Pharisees, "He who is without sin, let him throw the first stone." Then, and many Christians tend to forget this, Jesus said to the woman, "I don't condemn you. Go and sin no more."
In my opinion, aggressive gay rights activists like Perez Hilton make Christian conservatives less likely to speak out on these issues. I think that Christian conservatives are very tolerant, but as Reagan puts it: "...[the gay movement] isn’t just asking for civil rights; it’s asking for recognition and acceptance of an alternative lifestyle which I do not believe society can condone, nor can I.”
I think that sums up the feelings of many Christian conservatives.

You know, Amendment I of our Constitution (wonder if anybody in government has read it...) grants 'the people' the right "to petition the government for a redress of grievances". Unfortunately, these days, 'the people' seems to be defined as large corporations, lawyers, lobbyists, and their ilk. I hope you are successful, and I'll be following your story.
