Big Government : People Don't Get Educated in College

The hard sciences are no protection. I was trying to get a teaching certificate, (3 masters degrees and 30 years as an engineer and I can't teach) and had to take a calculus class. For an engineer, this was a complete waste as it was entirely a memorization course. No background no application, not even a 'why would we ever do this?" Pointless brutal memorization of integral and differential forms that have no basis in use or frame of reference. America is in a huge hole. No education worth a damn and no real engineers to drag us back out. Soon we'll wish for the days of just being screwed.

You have to try Jim Butchers novels. Both the Dresden Files and The Codex Alera are very nice high fantasy. And he's a puppy too. Many years of good stuff yet to come.

I personally like death metal in my gun club. And it's strictly beef... maaaybe buffalo.

That's the first rat jumping the sinking ship. Algore's wife is getting out while the money pile is high, and before the facts catch up with her husband.

Big Hollywood : Sarah Palin: One Year Later

I always wondered about those 100+ lawyers in Alaska. What the attrition rate was, you know, fed to bears... walked off short piers... used as crab bait, (oh wait, there are things crabs won't eat.) I mean, I've been to Alaska. They're a very polite bunch and don't tolerate bad manners like lawyers, anonymous bloggers and such.
