Hey, I can't see any images...I'd love to see the painting if you can get some images in!

Hey Rebecca, were you in class yesterday? I missed it (so embarrassing...) and I need to know if Dr. B talked about the final.

"The question "To be or not to be?" is as over-determined as the direction to "have a nice day." However, the original text has been reinterpreted and retransmitted so many times that what we receive sometimes only vaguely resembles the original message."

I absolutely agree. It makes me think of the conference talk that started "To be or not to be--is actually a good question." Because my immediate thought was, "Really? Are we about to hear that suicide is a-okay?" That's not what the speaker meant at all. He used the question out of context to introduce his own soliloquy on what it means to be, disregarding the meaning of the source material.

Thanks so much for the review! I'll definitely use your suggestions to polish things up before the blog is due.

Maybe? I don't know. I still have to read Henry V and write a creative YA lit scene.

Excellent job. This is exactly what I was trying to do in my teen themes post, but you did it much better. I'll definitely link to this in my hub post. In a small way, Hamlet also deals with the meaning of true friendship: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern used to be Hamlet's friends but then lose their loyalty to him, while Horatio stands beside him throughout the play.

Ooh, cool. I think the shattered mirror is visually stunning. Also, I may be misremembering and totally off, but it seems to me that when Hamlet broke the mirror in his mother's room, all the mirrors in the castle broke. I'm thinking particularly of the one in the main hall. I really need to rewatch this and see if I'm just crazy. But it would be an excellent metaphor.

Gosh, I feel completely unhelpful. Um...I like that you're focusing on Hamlet because that's possibly my favorite play. I especially like the idea of "Hamlet and types of performance" but I also like the idea of a creative project with the actors discussing Hamlet before putting it on. (You could even put those two together.) Really, we don't have much time left in the semester, so I think you should pick whatever interests you most right at this moment. Good luck!
