This is a huge project folks, I would guess it will take 1-1/2 yrs from now to get the first truck rolling. Of course, I don't know how well connected this company is and that has a great deal to do with the success for sure. It would be nice to have a competitive company like this in our area and you gotta love Cashen's sense of optimism. With so much negative energy around this area it is refreshing to hear someone that believes.

Yes Corn I have seen the same thing, I never give thumbs down just because I don't agree with the statement. I only give down when the writer says something that does nothing to add to the story. I really wish the "rating" system would go bye-bye.

Some bite stats:
Of the 27 people who died in from dog bites, 19 were children under the age of 15. The animal responsible for 3 out of 4 injuries involving youth under the age of 14 is the family dog. Now have a dog if you want, I liken the mantra; would you rather be hit with a ball-bat or a wooden spoon? No matter the breed some dogs just have the ability to inflict more damage, I do not get the people who say things like, I would have my children around my pit, rot, or.....insert your dog here( ) these arguments make no logical point to me. I will choose the spoon any day.........

You are correct stats can be misleading, however, you must face the question of what would you rather be bitten by; a puggle or a pit? Personally I have a puggle and this is because if she was to bite someone she could be fought off pretty easily, on the other hand a pit is much harder to fend off and the damage from one bite is much worse. I really do wish you the best of luck with "any" animal around that has the capacity to inflict great damage if they bite; especially children. I hope for your sake and your children that your dog never will attack.

Some bite stats:
* The median age of patients bitten was 15 years, with children, especially boys aged 5 to 9 years, having the highest incidence rate
* The odds that a bite victim will be a child are 3.2 to 1. (CDC.)
* Children seen in emergency departments were more likely than older persons to be bitten on the face, neck, and head. 77% of injuries to children under 10 years old are facial.
* Severe injuries occur almost exclusively in children less than 10 years of age.
* The majority of dog attacks (61%) happen at home or in a familiar place.
* The vast majority of biting dogs (77%) belong to the victim's family or a friend.
* When a child less than 4 years old is the victim, the family dog was the attacker half the time (47%), and the attack almost always happened in the family home (90%).
According to the Clifton study, pit bulls, Rottweilers, Presa Canarios and their mixes are responsible for 74% of attacks that were included in the study, 68% of the attacks upon children, 82% of the attacks upon adults, 65% of the deaths, and 68% of the maimings. In more than two-thirds of the cases included in the study, the life-threatening or fatal attack was apparently the first known dangerous behavior by the animal in question.

If I were the police I would be checking that trailer park on decatur road. I think it is Maple Grove trailer park; there is some real riff-raft coming out of that hole.

Once again big daddy is going to step up and save us. If health care is a right then those who exercise that right should not be hurting anyone while doing so right? By hurting I simply mean putting an undue burden on some while other are not affected by the burden. The fact is, in my opinion, is that the right to health care comes at a huge cost to everyone who "works". If you don't work then you are not being affected by the "rights" of others and you get free health care? It will be interesting to see just how the system works after it passes; we all know it is going to pass not enough logical voices in opposition.

I agree, of course Lake counties issues are much different than just the platform they stand on. St. Joe has been a Dem county for as long as I can remember, I know I love the idea of not paying for schools when our children all go to private school; which is a great expense in itself. I like the idea of the circuit breaker and am glad Mitch got this through it is time to find another way to pay for growing county government than putting it on the backs of homeowners.

Make room for someone with a new direction it was a needed change, all the focus was off the position and on her; she should have resigned.
