Yes, our government is inciting a class war. I have a feeling that they did this on purpose, to test the waters. Allow the bonuses, then raise a stink, get the people worked up, and then figure out a way to take them back and limit executive pay. Now that they feel the American people are mad enough at the rich that we'll allow our government to break contracts and take back the money these people were due, they have determined that they can do anything when it comes to executive pay. Hence the other article that was talking about regulating executive pay even for companies that have not taken any bailout money. They will start at the top and work their way down until they control what everyone gets paid.
This is only th ebeginning. The longer that they control the house, senate and white house the worse it's going to get. He starts by telling financial institutions how much they can pay their people, then socialized medicine will determine how much doctors and nurses can make. Then by increasing the power of unions, there will be a set pay scales for blue collar workers, plumbers will only be able to make so much, electrician, truck drivers, everyone, and it won't matter if you own your own busines or not, you will be told how much money you can make. If you make more than they say you can, they will just tax the extra at 90 or 100 percent.
WE need to remember one important thing. We need to make sure that we are living up to the same principles that we are asking our government too. We need to tell OUR govenors, and our congressmen that we do not believe in this bailout, and that we don't want any part of it. To say that we don't believe in it, but since they are giving out money we might as well get our fair share is wrong. I can complain about any other state, but until I tell my Republican govenor that I don't want any of that stimulus money I am just being two faced. Rember, you can only fix your state, start there. If your congressmen and Govenor aren't listening to you, vote them out. Do not make the same mistake twice by re-electing anyone who doesn't believe as you do. I don't care what party they are in.
You do realize that this is all part of their "share the wealth" plan. First you say what a C.E.O. is allowed to make, then you start deciding what management should be allowed to make, you decide who should get bonuses and how much they should get. Before you know it, they will decide how much a doctor should get paid, (socialized medicine), then a plumber, and finally even a ditch digger. It will start with only companies that get bailout money, then companies that get stimulus money, and then iin the name of fairness, if you don't take stimulus money, but companies in your industry do, they will tax you until your net pay is equal to that of companies who do take stimulus money. Let's all share the wealth.
And how much did this publicity stunt cost the American Taxpayers?
I think the best way to fight this, is to not participate in it. If it is going to be political and not fair anyway, why contribute to the fraud. When you get your census, just mark it, I refuse to answer these questions due to probable fraud.
And now the government wants to control our agriculture. Multi million dollar fines and property seizures, the small farmer is barely getting by as it is. The red tape alone will shut them down.
I have to disagree, this is not the government telling you how you can worship or who you can pray to in private. This is a Govenor,telling state trooper chaplins, that when they are representing the state of Virginia, and offering prayer publicly, they will do it in a non-sectarian way. It is defining a job description. As employees, they have the right, to do the job the way their boss wants it done, or go elsewhere for employment.
Bonuses are typically tied to performance, if an employee's contract states that he will be paid this much for meeting these goals, than he should be paid, no matter what the financial staus of the company is. Once you start cheating your employees out of their pay, whether it be salary, commission, or bonuses, you will lose good employees and not be able to replace them with equally qualified employees. Would you go to work for a company that you know cheats it's employees out of their pay?
I think that the govenor is right to a point. If a chaplin is praying with one or a few christians, he shouldl be able to say in Jesus' name. But if he praying at a memorial service, with officer from different religions, for the sake of argument we'll say Jewish officers are there too, and he asks God to watch over the soul of the departed; if he ends with we ask these things in your name, he's including the Jewish officers; if he says, we ask these things in your son Jesus Christ's name, he has just excluded the Jewish officer from that prayer.
