I really don't know what you are trying to say here, but this is a horrible thing to say. You and all others that are posting negatively about this situation should be ashamed of yourself.
Maybe I am wrong, but it seems as though the adoption fees are pretty outrageous. I think a reason there are so many animals in the shelters is due to the high adoption fees. Sure there are extras such as neutering included in the adoption fee, however you can look in the newspaper or on craigslist and find free dogs and cats that can be picked up the same day-No Paperwork Required. I am not saying that people should not go to shelters, I actually urge people to go to shelters. But the goal of shelters is to adopt out the animals, not make a profit. Most are non profit. If the adoption fees were lowered, in theory more people would be willing to adopt the animals. It cannot cost that much to neuter a pet. The Neuter Scooter charges $50 for cats, and I am sure that cost pays for the doctor's time, and the transportation costs of the mobile unit. The shelters do not need to lower their expectations for those willing to adopt, but a lower cost would be great.
THis is actually pretty Scary. I was working in Valpo for a retail store. I jumped in the compactor to dislodge a jam of Cardboard boxes. The door to the compactor slammed shut and locked me in. I was the only one in the store that had keys to it! Luckily there was a chute that led down to the compactor so I was safe. Also, I had a Walkie talkie and was able to communicate. I saw a bad weld on the compactor and was able to push my key through to an associate. He was then able to get me out. It was about a half an hour in there and i was out. Could have been a bad situation if someone pushed the on button and there was no chute to protect me.
I can see both sides of this debate. On one hand we should not allow the lapse of judgement by one person affect our outlook on the rest of the law enforcement/firefighter/emt community. However, the person in question here should lose his job for violating the privacy of the person involved.
Why is everyone freaking out about a 1-2 mile walk to school?! I don't get it! Are people that lazy that they can't walk a short distance?
How bad can this and cash for clunkers really be. Seriously, it is getting people to get out there and they are spending money. In my opinion, everybody is looking at everything they dislike about Obama and not looking at the good
By posting your comment, you all but wrote off every person that has ever grown up in an impverished area. Your post was saying that your son is a better person for joining the military than that boy of the same age that grew up in an area that was overun by gangs and drugs. A boy that was told all his life that the only life is in a gang. A boy too scared to not join the gang. Maybe my comment "sucked", but it was my opinion-neither right nor wrong. But your comment/reply saddened me because of te narrow mindedness tht it displayed.
I understand your concern, however, it sure beats stuffing them in a jail where they continue their gang activity and drug activity, only to be released without learning a lesson. If the Less violent ones (the ones that are in the gangs because they have no other choice, the ones that grew up in a bad area and don't know any better, but want a chance to better themselves) were brought into the military, trained, and mentored, and reformed-well then it would make a difference. Those people might move back into the same neighborhoods when they leave the military, they might not. But, they would ebcome roll models for those that are young and impressionable. I comend your son for protecting our country. It is a great thing he is doing. Imagine how great he would feel if he not only protected our country, but also took a young man/woman under his wing and helped mold that person into an upstanding model citizen.
I have worked for a cellular company and a grocery scanner and rabbit ears will NOT interfere with a cellular signal. They are completely different frequencies. I would recomend completing a PRL update (On Verizon and US Cellular dial *228) Other carriers will vary. My forst choice in Customer service is US Cellular. They are always helpful and actually listen to you. Next is Verizon. Their customer service is fairly knowledgable. Third would be ATT, their service is fairly decent. The worst would be SPRINT. They seem to be unknowledgable and unwilling to assist. I work with Sprint, Verizon and ATT on a daily basis.
I think that in gang ridden towns such as south bend, gary, etc...They should bring in the armed forces to take care of them. Local police can't seem to handle them. And the less violent ones should serve mandatory sentences in the armed forces. We are spending so much money searching for terrorists outside our country, why not spend some on the terrorists inside our country. Maybe they are low level terrorists, but in groups, their numbers add up! Also, couldn't they be arrested for treason? I mean they are basically forming their own "countries" within the United States. They take entire areas and claim it as their own. Just a thought
