KOMO - Seattle, WA : Boeing hopes for year of the Max at air show | Boeing | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News

It's all about minimizing the cost of the upgrade. Spending millions of extra dollars for unnecessary aesthetic improvements makes no business sense. Especially on an aircraft that already has paper thin profit margins.

Actually, you're very wrong. There are very specific rules to how and when a military uniform should be worn in public (and even which uniform). They have clearly violated those rules. There is no distinction as to whether you are on duty or off. When in uniform, it is to be worn correctly per the regs. It *is* an issue, completely separate from the breastfeeding issue.

If it is so important that the kids see "Bully" in school, why not just beep out the handful of words in question? How is the impact lessened by that? Are we really arguing that getting f-bombs in school is "for the children"?

Big Government : Obama Cronies Up to Boeing

The key ingredient was keeping the 737 (Boeing's cash cow) in Washington, which drove the ratification and the complaint dismissal. The concern driving the complaint was that Boeing was going to shift all new manufacturing to right to work states (South Carolina, Texas, etc.).

Nope, it's up and running. It was the basis of the original NLRB complaint, but they conveniently dropped it after Boeing committed to building the new 737 in Washington.

If he was walking chocks for a plane with no hydraulics, he'd have every reason to be near the gear (but not in front of them). Still no reason to not be paying attention to what's going on during a tow, though. Somebody will get hammered for this, no doubt.

Wonder how much that water test cost? I bet less than $2 million. Seems like the state could have saved a bundle by doing the test, then just hooking up to the sewer. It would certainly have benefited all parties involved.

"You'll find the majority of WA state natives, those of us who have lived here our entire lives, can drive safely in rain, darkness, and pretty much anything else but ice, and they also know where the speed traps are, school zones included." No, you won't. Case in point: The subject of this article. If they all knew it was a dangerous stretch if driven in a certain manner, why didn't they navigate it in a safer manner?

Sounds pretty great when you selectively read the offer like that. Add in the rest (i.e. medical premium hikes immediately, then a 10% hike every year after) and those GWI, COLA, ratification bonuses, and incentive bonuses disappear fairly quickly. Ratification bonuses are always tossed in as the shiny bauble to entice the short sighted people into buying whatever has been pitched, good or bad.

Wonder if he caught a wheel in all the crappy holes and gaps in the pavement/concrete going through that stretch? Certain parts of I-5 aren't really safe for motorcycles, even at or below the speed limits. Chunks of pavement missing, bad seams where they've added to the width, etc. Then you add in Gregoires cable barriers, and it really looks like WSDOT doesn't mind endangering those evil motorcycle riders...
