"And when the death is the result of criminal negligence, there needs to be accountability." This guy is a total & complete douchebag!! In this case and these people with the huge mistake that they did make, charging them will make them accountable to whom. The guilt that they both most likely are going through esp the Mother & that they must live with for life is much worse than charges plus jail/prison & being taken away from her other child. Or have we become so damn pompous that our shock over the loss of a child overides that of the childs own Mother who at least in this case does not seem to be a bad person but a person who made a bad mistake & must live with it for life. The blood thirsty & pompous in the community will in large numbers not even remember this is 2 years let alone a few weeks. Power is knowing when not to use it

If in fact his family knew nothing of his possible drug use, this is certianly a tragedy for them but I can never feel an ounce of smypathy for this guy. Dept may have problems but Diaz did not twist his arm to lift drugs from evidence, use drugs & possibly jeapordize convictions by letting the people he was sworn to stop back out on the street. At one point he was probally a good officer but all that is null & void now that he was proven a thief, possible liar, hypocrite, coward, possible addict & lets hope he was not selling also. Just because he wore a uniform & a badge for law enforcement does not mean he was none of these. Many many officers with same amount of stress or more that dont turn to stealing, using drugs, hitting the bottle or....after just as many years or Man enough to have some entgrity or identify that he needed help.
