Hi there Ellisa, thanks so much for writing this post, really great read. Love how you give us the image of 10 years of time that could be used more effectively or I guess differently towards achieving goals we've set out. Thanks!

Business Consulting Buzz : Take 5 to Keep Yourself Going

Mike, nice ideas and post. I personally use the coffee tip but can only do that about once an afternoon or it's just too much caffeine. My other tip is to read a newsletter or blog post I've starred and have been waiting to read but haven't had the chance to yet! I limit it to that one post or newsletter so it doesn't drain too much time but just refreshes my mind.

Nice interview for the blog Jill, thanks! I like the positive outlook on selling and looking at it more as a game or challenge rather then something "we just have to do to get business going" :)

Actually not sure if it's a lab feature as the message just popped up without me doing anything. The way to test if it's active is just try to send an email to yourself and write the words "I'm Attaching" in the body text. Then hit send and the message should pop up!

Business Consulting Buzz : Business Card Science for Consultants

Hi Karina - I like that idea and have definitely seen it used effectively. I also think it brings that extra level of human touch and as you said helps people remember the person they met. If you go with that option a few things to think about is a) do you have a high quality photo that prints well and fits in with the design and b) that you still get your USP or sales message out on the card. If you can consider the above and pull it off successfully I say go for the card with a photo!

Hi Kate, nice interview and thanks for stopping by our blog and sharing your time and insights with us and the readers. I hear you on the personal branding issue, I guess that's more of a fancy buzz word that's floating around the last few years but you mentioned "reputation" and there's lots going about that too...have you checked into an author and blogger by the name of Andy Beal? He came to mind as soon as you mentioned "reputation"

Clint - Thank you for the guest post. Mike and I here at the blog had thought about that for a while and that's why we went ahead and published the "Consulting Success System". At the moment it's only a digital download but we're looking into physical publishing options as I type this! Thanks so much for the push....

Business Consulting Buzz : Marketing Consultant Jay Ehret

Jay, great interview and thanks for taking the time to do it for us and the blog readers...I really like how you got the idea to start your business and it's a great lesson. See a weakness that you know you can improve on or fill a gap and then go from there! You say you meet several clients on Skype. Does that work well for you and do you find most clients are open to that these days? Thanks again, very motivating interview!

Business Consulting Buzz : 3 Tips for Staying Productive in Summer Weather

Maryle - I hear you with launching a new business, we're doing the same with a few businesses so the goals keep us working on sunny days! 5:30am I haven't been able to start my day at that time yet bu I know from experience that early mornings are a great time to get a few solid hours of concentrated work done. Joellyn - I've also been pretty busy with the networking events and summer they pick up even more. I know what you mean if you work hard and then head out to a nice place for some networking it keeps the work day balanced for sure!

Business Consulting Buzz : Business Card Science for Consultants

Alan - Nice comment and thoughts here. In another online community I work in I asked a member about this same question and he said that instead of focusing on giving his contact information first he offers a clear download link to a free informational product of his on his business card. He said the free download has been working well and at least 1 or 2 out of every ten people go to his website, enter their information, and then download his product. There is a good example of someone who is using his card to build contacts and as a lead generation tool!
