FinerMinds : How To Stop Worrying And Start Living By Dale Carnegie — DAY 3 Of The PhilosophersNotes Challenge

Many great ideas in this book too. When I find myself worrying about something/someone sometimes I can obsess. Usually I can't move on until I've spoken to a friend. I usally say, "Just listen, I need to talk this through out loud." Then i manage to sort through the worry, what I can do, then plan on doing it. Very much the same ase Carnegie says about writing it... These books we've covered all seem to say the same thing about taking action. This is a powerful idea that I am going to be more proactive on. I really dig the "rest and relaxation", I am a snooze hound! It makes me a happier person:) I am keeping a journal about my thoughts on the books too. I can't wait to study it after awhile, see the things I am thrilled about, and be sure to take action on my goals, etc.

FinerMinds : The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People By Stephen R. Covey — DAY 2 Of The PhilosophersNotes Chal

While listening/reading the 7 Habits note these things kept banging through my brain: 1 I am not good at the discilpline needed to follow through on my commitments. 2. I think I am prioritizing, take some action for a bit, then life gets in the way. 3. Does this mean the things I think are important to me, like a yoga business are not for me? 4. Or..do I just need to strive to be more consistent and make the habits necessary to finish my goals. 6/. What am I afraid of? Stay tuned for the next 48 days, maybe these questions will have answers and action!

I've never been on a silent retreat, assumptions are all you have to go by. Intuition must have some play here too. I haven't spent much time thinking about assumptions, I usally just ask, hopefully in a not so blunt way to offend. Cool tatoo, my hubby has 13, my body is an empty canvass so far.

Ahhh...the anticipation is over, our first note, ta da! I'm not an early riser so most of my posts will be after work, dinner, etc. EDT. The Four Agreements was a great start because one of the big ideas in this note is commitments. Am I commited to this challenge? You bet. I also love the agreement about not taking anything personally. I live this most of the time, hey, I'm human, trying to do my best most of the time. I can still remember my roommates in college getting upset with me because I didn't get upset over most of the drama of collefge life.. boyfriends, professors, blah, blah. Some things I'm aware of that I need to work on are family relationships, organization, and my start of a yoga business. Great beginning!

Hi Bri, Snow day in PA, no school, yippee, so grateful to sleep in and then play with my new puppy "Yogi". I need this gentle kick in the butt from your posts to help get me back in the groove of evolving. That gap that you talked about gets too wide and seems too far to cross at times Here I go today, I am on my way! Wings on my fuzzy-socked feet! Thanks so much for your awesome ability to convey these messages so they make sense to us all.
