It seems like Jasper isn't aware of the the role the diamonds played in corrupting the gems. Homeworld propaganda might have kept that a secret.

He was still an enemy and she was still a prisoner. That one interaction is really flimsy evidence to base any assumption of homeworld culture on.

Peridot didn't attack Steven because that's how homeworld gems treat each other. She did it because he's an enemy who's keeping her prisoner.

I'm no more convinced that they are fan made than I am that they aren't. In fact, I'm less convinced. I just wouldn't be surprised if they turned out to be fake.

I have no idea how long it would take, but the only things that couldn't have been made long in advance are the background with the stained glass window and vectors of those dark plants. I also can't remember how long we've known about those things.
