Aw, I love this.

I've always really liked my hair - I actually never got teased as a kid in the 90s. I only noticed it as I got older and the "ginger" thing came to North America (I think via southpark in the mid-2000s?) and it became really funny for people to tease redheads.

Yah. My sibling is going to compete, and he and his partner are really ready for kids, and I think is a little devastated by the possibility that they'll have to wait. It's so heartbreaking from that perspective - you give up your whole life for something (for 8 years, in his case) and then you realize you have this horrible risk as soon as that dream comes true.

IKEA has some great art, actually! Or nice-to-look-at art, at least. I also am a fan of just wandering around my parents' and grandparents' houses and adopting unloved photos/art/empty frames.

Oh, I feel like you're overthinking it! My read of that (and knowing my mom has done the same thing to my brother) is just that she likes you and wants you to be part of the family (even more than you already are).
