Daily Camera.com: : Boulder cyclists say Armstrong\'s actions reflect poorly on entire sport - Boulder Daily Camera

I personally don't care if he doped or not. At that time in cycling it was what everyone else was doing, and you either did it or not. Some say its cheating, but on the other hand I think there is room to say that it's not cheating. Everyone it seems takes something to make them perform better.... coffee, sugar, tea, vitamins, prozac, pain killers, placebos of all sorts. I truly could care less about this report all these years later. He has done more good than harm and when we look back in a year no one is going to even remember if he was stripped or not and it's not going to matter. I'm not sure its ok to judge him today on what was OK back then. To me, it sounds like he was right on the line, and just one step ahead of the anti-doping agencies. I understand they can look back now and see that he had substances that are now banned and he didn't play by the sport of the rules, but on the other hand they are going after him for things that were not illegal back then but they found later. So for me, Livestrong has provided me and many I know with much more than him ever winning in his personal endeavors. Saving lives is what matters to me, not this ongoing witch hunt.

Daily Camera.com: : Boulder City Council returns to ethics discussion - Boulder Daily Camera

LOL. Appeasement to the public or just a yearly meeting to say they thought about it? When it comes to this type of thing, the folks that get money from PLAN usually don't want to be identified, and will usually say, well, I can't choose who wants to give me money, and its not a requirement. I do agree that there are all sorts of groups that it would be good to know from, this groups just tends to have clearer goals internally and has more money that just about all of the other groups put together. There is more money put into this election at the city council level than in any election cycle in any city within 1500 miles of here. Las Vegas, and possibly Colorado Springs may come close. I'm all for transparency on all sides.

Daily Camera.com: : Rob Smoke: Marijuana prohibition -- Vote \'yes\' on Amendment 64 - Boulder Daily Camera

You can test for active THC vs. metabolites, so you are confusing whether you are high right now vs. whether you smoked in the last X days. Every job I have worked at, all corporate allow drinking a beer at lunch, in fact many of the people I work with take everything from muscle relaxers, to prozac (and similar medicines) to calm them down. I also work with many people that take things like Ritalin and Dexedrine. You are not always 100% yourself going into work, no one is. Maybe a rough meal? So when you say this, I think the general rule applies from the places I've worked. Drink a beer, and come back to work. That's. Take whatever other drugs you take, and as long as you are ok to work, work. Understand the tests and how they are different. Look at it through the prism of we work to live and not live to work. If some person wants to smoke instead of drink a beer, then great. I happen to not like to do either before work, but I certainly don't say a word and neither does our manager or their manager because its not looked down upon.

Daily Camera.com: : Lafayette comes out swinging on impending Xcel light pole banner ban - Boulder Daily Camera

These are metal poles, not wooden poles, so I think that is the issue. I can understand wood poles with a banner hanging in such a way to catch the west wind that we get sometimes this time of year, but otherwise in general, a flag on a large metal pole which they paid extra for isn't going to hurt the pole and I'm sure that Xcel is just trying to make sure the lawyers are happy, if not even trying to get more money out of the deal.

Daily Camera.com: : Crews quickly extinguish kitchen fire in South Boulder home Thursday - Boulder Daily Camera

That sucks. What can you do, at least they're safe, but its amazing how quickly things can go wrong. I know many folks have trouble finding the cash and even the want to get a fire extinguisher and to have more than one in a closet. Next to the furnace, next to the dryer, in the kitchen (make sure its chemical, and also don't forget baking soda and flour are pretty good), so you may not have to use it nightly. One for the garage space, and if you have an outhouse, or grill, it doesn't hurt there. Never hurts to be ready.... You never know when you'll need it.

It's clear there was some vandalism. I don't know what everything is made of, but I do know that wires strung in the woods tend to break for a variety of reasons. Either way, I like it. I don't view it through the eyes of any religion myself, as that would be an annoying conversation in my head. I do enjoy the spirit. Maybe its time to put it back to a peace sign for awhile. At least until the elections are over. Actually scrap that, that's worse. I don't want to think about the elections.

Daily Camera.com: : Longmont-area motorist still sought in \'honking\' incident - Boulder Daily Camera

Apparently you don't ride a bike, they were moving along at more than 3mph. An average cyclist rides between 10 and 15 mph with no wind. I'm no pro, but with the wind at my back I've done 45 on the flats. I guess that it is true, he did not give them the 3 feet, and the law was on his side to pass, so the whole thing is bizarre If he did come close enough to the bikers for them to have to push off his car to get out of the way, then that could be looked at as assault, but I'm not sure if anyone wants to go there with this. It seems to me most people just want to have him publicly shamed in hopes that he never does this again.

I agree its none of our business. I'm glad she is safe. I sure hope this family doesn't get put in the system, but I'm sure they will now. Getting lost in Boulder is impossible (east of the mountains), so she obviously knew where she was, and if your going to run away, this is probably one of the best places to hang out. I know many folks think we have a horrible homeless problem, but this just goes to show that its not as bad as many think She's safe. No harm, no foul. I say let the family work it out and move on from there. There are many reasons kids run from home I don't want to even open that can of worms because like we said, its really none of our business, but I sure hope that whatever happens, she gets the help she needs and that her family is not abusing her or causing her any undo trouble or other problems.

Good. License plate reported to the public The cops know who this guy is. They have information on him. Though he may not be driving his car around at the moment thinking that if its in the garage that it will blow over, the cops will find out who he was I'm not sure if honking your horn and being an ass is a crime, but regardless, what the driver did was just unreal and stupid. Most of us know the laws, and just like Metzner said, and I am one of those cyclists and drivers who has had incidents on both sides, but truly, most are accidents and impatience. This was clearly a road rage incident. I'm very happy that they were able to capture this on their cameras as it would be hard to actually explain what this guy did. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. I know the name has been released. Does anyone remember or know what the guys name and where he lives? I believe its Erie. I don't think we need to post his address as we are not looking for a lynch mob, but he should be at least noted for the public to know and to see who he is. I'd even love for his phone # posted so that everyone that wanted to could give them a piece of their mind If he wants to let these guys have it, and wants to engage others, then lets all chat. Nothing wrong with that! Just remember, two wrongs don't make a right, so keep it civil, but let's know who this guy is. (I do believe its a male from what I've read)

Daily Camera.com: : Lafayette Taser death: Federal court hears Ryan Wilson family\'s excessive force claim - Boulder Dai

This always becomes the same comment filled forum. For those that ask the same questions...fairly enough because the story changes every time the DC reports it, but the facts don't. #1 The officer was in plain clothes. #2 No one can and has ever proven that just because the kid knew where these plants were in a public park that they were his. #3 The officer did not announce hiimself as a police officer #4 One reason Ryan did not stop with his friend is that they did not know these were cops to start with, much less some sort of bust gone bad by the last Police Chief in Lafayette, they thought they were a couple of goons chasing him #5 Sure, don't run from cops, but he did not know this #6 There was no danger to the officer or anyone else. If the kid outran him, then big deal.. was it worth a life? He wasn't even an adult and under our statutes, that means he didn't know what an adult would do in the same situation. Those are the facts that always get questioned Harris is a violent man and was given a tool that could kill. He knew the possibilities, and he chose to fire his taser at the kid without knowing anything other than some kid was running from some plain clothed cop who didn't announce himself. I hope the Wilson family gets what they deserve. I am very happy they have taken this all the way up the chain. Nothing like Gary to try to save this as he knows there isn't enough money in Lafayette to pay for this. Don't forget, Gary tried to leave Lafayette for pretty much anywhere else that would take him and during elections, he was not hired or elected. This case did help change the way the force works here. That is good, but the family also should make this a public issue as Taser's, while maybe meant not to kill, DO KILL. You wouldn't give your child (0-18) something that only kills .2% of the population. You can't even get mothers and fathers to give vaccines to their children that has an almost insignificant rate of hurting the person who gets it. Somewhere near .000001%, and if .000001% is too much of a risk, .2% is definitely not something to just play with. And finally, and things have changed, why on earth did the cops not go and pull the plants? After all, they were the ones that let them grow after finding out about them and then having them setup a sting It would have cost about $20 in people's time to pull them and dump them vs. paying these guys overtime to watch who may walk through a field. The entire thing was a bad idea. It ended in death It killed the boy and this family, trying to good for the nation and others who have had issues is actually making headway, regardless of what Gary says. This hopefully opens the door to tasers, when they should be used, who they should be used on and more thought given to someone pulling the trigger knowing full well that the officer has no idea the condition of a suspect. Its pretty clear that anyone with an elevated heart rate from say... running, panic, fright, etc.. has been shown time and time again to be one of the root causes of deaths by Tasers. Ryan, many of us will not forget. We know what happened We got rid of the old police chief. We have worked to stop the judges from making up new laws on Marijuana in town, so though it was never worth your life from this officer's terrible judgement and a record that shows he was always one of the more violent officers, at least your family is pushing forward. This is much bigger now than just one case. There are many, many cases pending on the outcome of this around the country. We're still standing with you.
