Steve Lundeberg : Lundy: Death takes no holiday

It is especially hard I think to put down dogs or cats. When I had to put down my cat, it was the hardest decision I had ever made and I was a wreck but I stayed with him to the end and let him go with as much love as he had given me in the 9 years we were together. I can't even see the day I will have to part with my dogs I choose to live in the joy of now.

Jennifer Moody : Moody: Egad, it's almost Lent!

Good for you Jennifer! I love the season of Lent. For me, giving up something for Lent has always ended up being a good thing. Once in awhile whatever I gave up actually stayed given up or used considerably less. I'll keep you in prayer for your 40 days.

I didn't find it offensive at all. Actually quite clever imo. But there is a church in Lebanon with a sign out front that says 12 Angry Mennonites, Not at this Church. Thats a bit more on the offensive side i think.

Steve Lundeberg : Lundy: Results oriented

I definitely would want whoever could get the job done. My best friend is gay and is currently on his 2nd tour in Iraq. No one cares about his orientation and he is very dedicated to serving his country. I think people who are homophobic are just scared to accept that a world does exist beyond their borders. I don't believe in changing people so they will fit into your world. Who knows when that young doctor or good samaritin saves your life are you going to say sorry your gay i'd rather die?

Someone needs to lose their job whether or not something bad happens. This was incredibly stupid and irresponsible. You do not clear someone for an outing ever if they have an escape record. My GOD! So many people are at risk now including those that apprehend him.

yes there are a lot of organizations that can help and yes people often have to be willing to accept that help. this guy has probably gotten used to staying where he's at and it appears that his camper will need to be towed in order for him to move. i hated being homeless and i would never want to be in that situation again but i did notice some things when i was around others who were homeless, sometimes its not the drugs or alcohol thats the most addicting, its the freedom.

I think those who have been homeless are the only ones who honestly know what its like to live on the streets. I was forced into a situation and had to live in my car for 3 months and it was the most horrid and scariest time of my life. I was attacked while walking to a bathroom in a park. I stayed in a wal-mart parking lot and and cried myself to sleep a lot of nights. No one cares anymore if you are homeless, people look at you like you are so much less than. It really hurts to be treated that way. I have a roof over my head now and every day I am so thankful for it. Try it sometime, get in your car with only the clothes on your back and drive to a parking lot and live there for 3 days and see what its really like and maybe you would learn a lesson or two.

Steve Lundeberg : Steve Lundeberg: Waiting at the doctor

I think its more our culture than anything. A lot (notice I didn't say all) of Americans think they are entitled to get everything right now. I've seen it over and over again. From the express lanes at the grocery store to the honking horn behind me the second after the light turns green. People seem to have forgotten how to be patient or kind to others in their busy and demanding way of life. I never mind waiting because it always gives me a chance to smile at someone and say hello. You never know what difference that can make in someones life.

KVAL - Eugene, OR : One dog dies, others rescued from hot cars | KVAL CBS 13 - News, Weather and Sports - Eugene, OR - E

My dog is a service dog so she gets to go with me everywhere but even with that I still have common sense... When its going to be a really hot day I don't even take her out because her feet could get burned on the sidewalk. If its too hot for me then that goes double for her... A dogs body temp runs higher than ours does plus all that fur. If you have a pet you have to use your brain, if you don't have a brain don't have a pet!!!!

what a idiot. if that poor child has injuries with long lasting effects or possible brain damage because of a stupid and selfish "parent"..........OH! just makes me want to scream! I can't have kids... I love kids and I see so much of this lately. I want a child more than anything and when I see people like this have children and treat them like a plaything or something that could just as easily be discarded it breaks my heart every time.

Once again instead of dropping off the baby at a hospital a life is ended. I have no choice but to adopt a child because I can't have any of my own and stories like this break my heart. That could have been my son or daughter.... who may not grow under my heart but within it.

totally agree MJ, these are dogs and cats and there is no reason whatsoever to leave your pet locked in a car on a hot day. If you have chosen to have a pet you are their guardian for the rest of their life not just when you feel like it. They don't have voices, YOU ARE their voice. This just makes me sick. I love my dog and would never want anything bad to happen to her.

I can't say how long they would have had to wait for someone to come and get it but I seriously doubt it would have been a day or two in that situation and anyone who has common sense would not let their child run around unattended at an autobody shop. Yeah the snake was angry but at the same time all they had to do was make a phone call and they would have been told what to do. If they had no other options than killing it I would understand..
