I feel bad for this Deputy. Here's the facts. Domestic violence calls are the most common and the most DANGEROUS type of calls that law enforcement respond to. They put their lives on the line EVERY single time that they respond to a call. On the majority of domestic violence calls, they have to get there before someone is seriously injured or killed, its nothing to play around with or dink around in getting there. If they were traveling at a high rate of speed, most likely dispatch told them that the situation was serious. As a past firefighter, I know what it is like to get that adrenalin rush when you think someone may be about to die and their life may depend on you getting there in time. Yes, maybe he was driving a bit too fast for his level of experience, but give the guy a break, I'm sure that he has learned a great deal from this and no one was injured. These guys are heroes and when they goof up and make a mistake we need to give them grace. Yes, he wrecked a car but remember, he'd put his life on the line to save ours in a heart beat! The sad thing is.... those driving under the influence that seriously injure or kill innocent people don't get this much flack in the forums!

Con't..... When our nation comes under attack who is there to protect us? You? No, you'd be somewhere hiding and crying out for your blankie, that is after you crapped your pants. Military members would/do fight for and protect a disrepectful moron like yourself regardless if you were deserving or not and they would do so without complaining. So, you need to know that when you are talking crap about them, you aren’t just taking on a whole army my friend, they all come with families that are willing to speak up and defend them while they are away defending us and keeping America safe and protecting our freedom. The day that you have worn this Soldier's boots and have accomplished a fraction of what he has, will be the day that you could possibly understand why he really went back. My son is in the Army and I am damn proud of him and every other member of the US military. Now shut up and show some respect! You owe this Soldier gratitude, respect, honor and you also owe him and his family a HUGE apology! Proud Army Mom

Hey Swordofchaos! You are talking out of the wrong end! These men and women go to war and protect YOUR freedoms including YOUR freedom to speech which you are abusing! YOU and I and everyone else owe them respect even if you don’t agree with the war itself! It’s obvious that you don’t have the necessary body parts to do what he did and you are just jealous of the amazing things that he has accomplished! He is not returning so he can die, he is returning so that others, including YOU may not only live, but live out your life with freedoms that you obviously do not appreciate one bit! How dare you speak shut crap about him!

Building the mosque at Ground Zero would be like building a shrine or church for Timothy McVey next door to the Federal Building in Oklahoma City that he blew up, YOU JUST DON'T DO IT! You cant tell me that they cant find a more suitable location somewhere else! I'm a proud American and Im not afraid to stand for what is right. And for those arguing freedom of religion on behalf of the Muslims, I am one of thousands of military parents that can proudly tell you that my son is helping fighting for the very freedom of speech and religion that you are trying to misuse for these murderers! These freedoms come at too high of a cost to misuse! Unless you have family member that was killed on 9/11 in the attacks, don't speak for the families that lost a loved one, THEY have spoken for themselves and have said that they do NOT want this and that it WOULD be too painful! Proud Army Mom! and Proud American!

Can we really afford to judge her? Have we walked in her shoes filled with the pain of loneliness and despair? While this nothing that we would personally consider doing, this is heartbreaking! This lonely, elderly lady was haunted with silence and loneliness and this must have been the only thing that she knew to be able to be with her loved ones so that she was not alone. Instead of judging her or criticizing her, perhaps as humans, people should reach out to her to help fill the void of the missing loved ones that has past away. Can you imagine being so lonely that your mind must resort to this for survival? Also, it should make you think of single, elderly person that we know and it should stir our heart and compassion to get involved and be there for them so that no one ever has to suffer the silence and loneliness as this poor lady suffered. Be kind, compassionate and love one another as Jesus loves us. Written with respect for all.

This man willingly went to fight for our Nation's protection and freedom, not once, but THREE times! He gave his all and now we, as Americans owe it to him to help take care of his family like this Soldier took care of us. This fine man, put it all on the line so that we can be safe and so that we can be free. I'm sure that my opinion wont be popular among everyone, but I think that the mortgages of fallen Soldiers (all Military branches included) should be forgiven by the US government. This man and many others like him paid with their life! Freedom is never free and these fallen heroes paid the cost for our freedom (including our freedom of speech that allows us the ability to voice our opinions) There is no greater sacrifice and love than someone that willingly dies for another.
Portland News, Oregon News and Local Weather from KPTV FOX 12 News : 2 Injured In Crash Of 2 TriMet Buses - Traffic News Story - KPTV Portland

And it wasn't even a LEFT turn! Maybe now Tri-met will say that the buses wont be allowed to come to a complete stop because it would be too dangerous! And maybe they will require drivers to honk when coming near another bus! Makes about as much since as no left turns and their bright idea of making their drivers honk when turning left! Maybe Nascar drivers will have to start honking every left hand turn they make as well! Just ask Tri-met! Tri-met needs to install cameras on their drivers and on the front of the bus and this could help them weed out the bad and distracted drivers. And oh yea, the Tri-met drivers using cell phones while driving..... STILL an issue!

KATU - Portland, OR : TriMet considers getting rid of all left-hand turns | KATU.com - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic and

Great point Siwash! But what if they hit someone going straight? Will they have to drive the buses backwards? What if they hit someone while moving at all, will they have to leave the buses parked? Makes about as much since as eliminating the left hand turns! Nascar does left hand turns while going 175 miles an hour! Lets send Tri-met drivers to Nascar driver training school! After all, passengers already need the safety harnesses and roll cages anyway!

It's simple, hire competent drivers that know how to turn left without running people over! This is basic driving skill that we are talking about! How do they make left turns in their own vehicles? and better yet, were there no left hand turns in their driver training or in their driver tests, hey maybe that's the problem! Maybe Trimet opted to leave out left hand turn training to save money in their budget! Tri-met just want to take the focus off of themselves so that someone or something is to blame except where the blame really falls, on Tri-met. And, by the way Tri-met, your "no cell phone policy for drivers using cell phone while driving" is being ignored by your many of your drivers! Put cameras on your drivers and cameras on the road and watch your drivers, maybe then you can weed out the bad drivers, and it would not take long either! Sincerely, Former Tri-met Rider and Good Left Hand Turner

This group thrives on negative attention! They love to be hated because it means they are getting attention! They thrive on being acknowledged period! They thrive on arguing! There is no reasoning with them, it does not work! They love media attention and the love seeing and hearing themselves on TV. It is my hopes that our local media will not even report this if they show up because when they do, they are feeding into the efforts of the WBC and advertising their messages of hate for them. They go where they can stir up strife and bring the news cameras to focus on them Here is what they hate.... they hate to be ignored! Want to foil their efforts? Ignore them! It's the thing that they hate the most!

KATU - Portland, OR : Snowball case goes before state appellate court | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | News

As far as Snowball, anyone can look at her and tell that she is indeed half goat, which would make the state at fault for getting involved. Had this family been able to gain access to her for testing, they could have had a DNA test done (at their expense I’m sure) and that would have taken all authority away from the state as she would not fall under the classification of a wild or protected animal. But for some reason the state does not want this test to be done because it would make them liable for damages and wrongful removable if this was proven to be true. We have hundreds of starving children in Oregon and we have medically needy that are dying without treatment but it never fails to amaze me how the state who claims to be broke can always find spare pockets to waste money from. This clearly shows where spenders of our tax dollars have their priorities!

As to the post made by MandyK how would you feel if someone posted lies about you online? These people are good people and they would not abuse or neglect animals. Fact: YOU are spreading damaging gossip that could indeed affect someone's reputation! That is sooooooo wrong of you! In your own post you did not even know all the facts as to the correct identity of the ones you are accusing but that did not stop you from posting. Why would you do that to someone? Further more, who is the NWMPP Association? Are they a credible organization and why would they go around giving YOU this information? Please do tell. Give the name and phone number and the name of the person you spoke with. Please leave the "getting the story out" to the media who behave in a responsible manner so as not to damage the credibility of innocent people. They do complete fact-finding BEFORE they spout off at the mouth.
