I thought it read "plaque". Never knew them to really brush their little teeth.

Evaluating whether a gun is real, paint ball or otherwise while driving in a split second is almost impossible. After being startled by such an occurrence it seems impossible to determine how the vast majority of us would truly react except to hopefully slow down safely and report quickly the actions of the driver and an accurate description of the vehicle in which the alleged action occurred. Fantasizing about pitting them, presenting a weapon of one's own or otherwise elevating the confrontation is as irresponsible although, perhaps, emotionally justifiable. As a professional trucker, reading such responses only serves to reinforce my own awareness and caution of what I do for a living. That said, I use a headset while communicating with others - my CB is bluetooth equipped.
He's got issues. No question about that. But I do appreciate the fact that no one reacted in any of the aggressive manners suggested. And yes, it has certainly crossed my mind many times to just run some dumb SOB off the road. But my life and my family's aren't worth that. Take that as a thoughtfully considered response before engaging another in something that need never be escalated to such a point where there is likely no turning back. Apologies don't cover injuries or deaths very meaningfully.
I'm heading back to North Dakota. We have room to... accommodate such individuals. Lots of it.
As a professional long haul driver there are times when I rely on use of a cell phone while my rig is in motion. But I have a bluetooth earpiece as well which I use strictly. That said, I have no objection to a mandatory headset requirement for use as California has and a complete ban on texting or other distracting usage of a mobile device. Pulling over to communicate is almost absurd in cities yet federal time limits on hours of driving mean I have to use all safe, legal and efficient means to perform my job. Limiting communications with a ban is over-reaching.
