Now you are calling all backward regions as neglected
If a region continues to be backward after 63 years of independence, then it is neglected. An equitable distribution of wealth, opportunity and good livelihood is a mandate of this nation.

May be you forgot that 3 states were created 10 years ago . They were all created with consensus . The tone was already set by BJP . The only surprise was why center didnt even consider the interests of Andhra region in this regard.
Again, you have to read it in the context.
Only one national party (BJP/NDA) had embraced 'more states' agenda. Congress, with the legacy of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi et al, continued to be seen as strong opposer of new states till the 9th December announcement.
Just so that you understand, I quote from the post above:
"The biggest transformation that has happened in the recent past, second to the passing of RTI act, is the acceptance by all national parties a need to create new states. P Chidambaram’s announcement came as a surprise to everyone - this was a major shift from the prevailing tone."

You have to read it in context. Not out of context.
The post was suggesting that a regional party of a small state that supports the government at the center can muster more negotiating power than a large state, thereby diluting the prior notion of 'bigger state means more negotiating power'.
You have to be extremely careful in your writing if you want to elicit response from me.

'Hyderabad as core of the problem' is a notion that Andhras have created so that they can continue to subdue Telangana and its cities. As far as Telangana is concerned Hyderabad is not in the picture. It is part of Telangana the way Warangal or Adilabad is part of Telangana.
You make a big deal out of Hyderabad, we don't.

In most regions, there are no safeguards to protect marginalization of region B. However, in case of Telangana, such protections, safeguards, guarantees were in place. And yet, they didn't work out in the end. I am discussing this in the next post.
the core problem or the Super set of most (if not almsost) the problems is CORRUPTION
The current problem of Telangana can be, would have been, solved without having to correct the problem of corruption. Corruption will always be there. The whole idea of building the democratic institutions is to protect the people of certain region or identity in spite of such perennial problems, like corruption, population, illiteracy, etc.
So, instead of addressing the actual problem we going in a WRONG way or a way we definetely know the problem still exist as it was and it coninues to be.
We will continue to try to solve the problem of corruption, literacy, poverty, population, etc. But tht does not mean we will stop from doling out justices till those problems are solved. Those problems will continue to remain, may only grow smaller with time, but to believe that we will wait till that day when all these problems are sorted out to dole out justices is patently childish.
Worst part if this could lead to encouraging the corruption.
The fear of increase in corruption, population, illiteracy, poverty, etc, WILL NOT and SHOULD NOT be the reasons why a state should not be formed. Such problems will continue to plague us. Would we have waited for British to solve all these problems before they gave us Independence? We wouldn't have. That's because some of these problems can be better handled by the people if they rule themselves.

Thanks for writing. Thanks for the support.
Indeed you are right in citing the example of Karnataka. They are even suggesting in bringing back Mulki Rules to protect those regions. They take efforts to hold Assembly session North Karnataka to bring administration closer to people. The fears, as we suggested here, are good in the long run.

Thanks for the words of support and words of caution.
It is easy for all of us to get high and intoxicated by the power we wield. We tend to become exact opposite for what we stand for. I hope I don't go that way.
In the post, "Two Years of blogging", I wrote the following:
"I believe that vocalizing your thoughts and opinions builds one's character. I can understand why. Writing allows you to know more about yourself... This makes [one] more accountable.
The very idea of expressing yourself in writing allows you to question yourself, ‘do you really mean what you say?’, and ‘do you really practice what you preach?’ That constant questioning changes you and over a period of time, you start becoming like what you write. If you write good, most probably you become good. On this blog, I write what I think is right, and that keeps me correcting myself in my life. It’s as if my blog is watching me and telling me to do the right thing."
I hope people will judge me in future with my blog as the yard stick. I hope they will come to tell me that I am deviating from where I stood before. I am willing to be criticized if I change my path. I hope these writings will act as a mirror, correcting me where possible.

Please understand that the names for our identities change with time. For example, sixty years ago, everyone in the sub-continent was called Indians, including those living now in Pakistan and Bangladesh. But if you were to refer to Pakistani as an Indian, he would not agree to it.
Even those living in Pakistan now referred to themselves as Hindustani, or India, but not anymore. The same way, though Pothana referred to all of us as Andhra, we no longer subscribe to that definition.
Ironically, the very Nizam Telangana leaders violated this agreement in certain instances
Unfortunately for us, Nizam was not a democratic ruler, and Nizam Hyderabad was not a democracy. We couldn't challenge the things that we didn't like, we had to endure it. Are you saying that we can't challenge Andhras either?

England is democratic but not republic. Democracy doesn't always mean people have the power to elect even the supreme leader.
Most of us don't know this but we had elections even during British Rule and leaders like Nehru were elected. So, in some way we had limited democracy.

Thanks for your kind words.
You have to understand that I am ruthlessly critical of many things. I may not live up to your expectations in other topics. I will be the harshest critic of Telangana once it is formed.
