It won't bring glory and will most likely meet with a fair amount of opposition. But remember back when you were a "progressive". Remember when you finally made the leap to do some of your own homework, do some actual research and educate yourself. Remember how your eyes were opened when you understood the truth. Volunteer 5 - 10 hours per week to give a series of lessons ranging from Jury Nullification to the Bill of Rights, the history behind each, the difference between a democracy and a republic, etc. Eventually, they will begin to understand what they will be voting for or against. They'll think beyond populism. They'll understand the responsibilities that go along with our rights. They'll understand that freedom isn't free. Here's an idea that might appeal to many: Teach for homeschool, 4-H, Discovery U, whatever. The different state university extensions have community education opportunities. What is our bottom line problem with our country? I say it is ignorance. We know the public schools weren't instituted to create independent, liberty minded citizens.
