I'm talking about the cost of getting your own apartment or house, plus the moving expenses. She may have friends that stand behind her but who wants that media shitstorm descending on their house/family if she moves in with friends?

Or it could be that her friends are distancing themselves from her right now.

Regardless, I meant to simply add that moving is expensive and this could be the reason why she hasn't moved yet...

Exactly. We do have innocent until proven guilty. I also have my reservations about these types of things being played out in the "news".

I was thinking something along the same lines. While I have my suspicions about Terri, it's expensive and time consuming to move out of a family dwelling. I don't remember seeing that Terri had a job, so this could just be a matter of cost, assuming there aren't many people scrambling to help her out financially right now.

This is an unpaid day off. Vacation, sick leave, overtime, or comp time cannot be used during the furlough week, to offset the hit. How you can say, "most lose little or no income" is beyond me. Do me a favor. Go up to your boss today and tell him you'd like to take Monday off UNPAID.

I will not shed a tear for Blockbuster closing it's doors. They're the ones that sent an $11 charge on my account to collections before I even knew it was late. This was many years ago and I hadn't been into a Blockbuster for a year or so. They never bothered to contact me regarding the $11 I owed them. When I found out it was sent to collections, I went into my local BB, paid the $11 and promptly canceled my account.

Having said this, it is sad that many, many people will be losing their jobs.

Unless you're a registered sex offender, nobody cares whether you have porn on your computer or not. That isn't a crime. Having child porn on your computer, however, is a different matter altogether.

Just because you turn off your SSID broadcast does not mean your wireless connection cannot be found. In fact, quite the opposite is true. Also turning on MAC address authorization is not a protection for your wireless connection. Most WIFI connections are such a trivial thing to hack, that it should scare most people away from using them.

While firefighters may know how to pour water on a simple 1 story house fire, how do you think they got that knowledge?

As a former firefighter, I can attest to how invaluable this type of training is. While watching films and using a burn simulator are good training tools, nothing, and I do mean nothing, can replace an actual burning structure.

So I have to ask you charlieharper, would you like the noobie recruits, who've never fought an actual fire, show up to your burning home, or the noobie recruits who have live fire experience??
