I was pretty slow on the uptake. Took me a number of years before I felt comfortable, and I'm still changing and learning. Best way to learn the language is "right-click -> source". Find some code. Emulate it. Stick an embed in a button to give a message. Or open a window. Look at how the templates do stuff (by right-click source) .. That is, put a button down, call a procedure from it, with options. Then right-click -> source and take a look at how the code works. Hope that helps.

Victor, Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no "Demo" version of Clarion. I do know that Soft Velocity were planning to create a Demo version, but I have no idea when that would be done.

Wayne, Thanks for commenting! Yeah, I hear what you're saying. I was buying Wii games thinking I'd have a lot of time/enthusiasm to play with the kids, but ends up being just the kids playing and me hearing about them. Sad. But restricting that has actually helped us enjoy gaming more together.

Dave, Agreed. And interesting about the "significant slice". Clarion 7 and .Net will change the landscape, as every version has. There is no doubt. But I think people will be pleasantly (or excitedly) surprised at just how much it will affect them.
