I got my iPhone under iOS3.1.3 for which I got SHSH backup files in Cydia thanks to Spirit. But I'm stuck cause I can't go back to iOS3.1.2 to formally do a proper Jailbreak using PT. So I guess I'll have to wait for a new version of PT that besides handling the iPhone 4 maybe it will also include 3GS iPhones that can't or are not Jailbreak. And like the Dev Team said, can't use Spirit to jailbreak so I'm stuck. :-(

Tried that... didn't work. Can't get pass the errors 1600 or 1604. Maybe besides having the OLD bootrom the 3GS needed to also be in iOS3.1.2 Jailbroken. If 3GS isn't previously JB even with the OLD bootrom I don't think it will work. Please correct me. Thanks.

Hi you misunderstood me, I did create a custom firmware with PT4.01, but I already was at iOS4 in my 3GS (still has OLD bootrom), I was just going to restore it again using the custom file created by PT4.01. But during that process of restoring iTunes gives me error 1604 always. It won't complete the process. How can fix the error? If I have to wait then fine... I'll wait ;-) that gives me hope!

Hi guys,

I have a 3GS with iOS4 non jailbreak, with OLD bootrom. I tried to JB using PT4.01 but kept getting error 1604 on iTunes... Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

Not yet, the Dev Team is working on it.

Hi Turn off the iPhone using the power button and the home button at the same time, after this, turn on iTunes then plug the cable to the computer and before you plug the iPhone to the cable, hit the home button and keep it pressed while connecting to the cable. This will tell iTunes that the iPhone is in "Recovery" mode and it will ask you if you want to restore it, the problem is that it will probably restore it to iPhoneOS3.1 and we still can't jailbreak that version so far. But at least your iPhone will be working again ;-)

Well I had installed in WinterBoard a Lockinfo add-on called "Grouppled Art" this is pretty cool since it changes the slider and a lot of the apple UI, but in doing so it slows all of Apples natives apps and some third party apps too when entering them, I was waiting between 3 to 8 seconds for an app to fully load and typing on the keyboard was by faith for no movement was seen until after I typed a word. So I had to give up this cool feature to get speed back, I left the normal theme on which right now is Illumine. I guess that running a theme for the home screens wont slow down the iPhone as much as changing the UI for the internal looks of each app. I also deactivate Volume Boost 3.0, and others that where there just for fun, only left Lockinfo and Illumine activated out of the whole bunch. This as helped my case a lot. Sacrificing looks for performance. I'm happy again with my Jailbreak iPhone. ;-)

Thank you so much for all the replies to my question about performance, I was able to turn off a couple of things in WinterBoard that where slowing the whole system down. It made the entire performance a lot faster. Thank you so much.

Hi,

I have an iPhone 3G, and it's JB. I was wondering if it was possible for the Dev Team to take a special look at performance issues when an iPhone is Jailbreaked, in this new version of iPhoneOS3.1 it would be very appreciated if speed would be taken into consideration. After I did the Jailbreak process, my iPhone has slowed down so much it's making it very hard to decided to keep on using it as Jailbreak, even thou it offers so many great advantages. Thank you for all your consideration.
