What they need is to actively try to get themselves a babyface version of EC3. Take a young talent with everything going for him, give him the ball & let him run with it. Build towards BFG main event next year. They are just holding their heads above water just now but have never really got the fact that they need to create stars who not only get over with fans but make TNA as a company more worthwhile to potential fans. Then it would become easier for them to lure stars from other companies past & present. They badly need long term goals instead of constantly looking around wondering where they can fit in.
As crazy as this whole tournament is & the many obvious flaws it has, I've got to say that I'm really enjoying Impact right now. The focus on the actual wrestling has been a welcome change of pace for me. TNA were always at their best when the spotlight was on their in-ring product rather than too many segments that went all over the place & achieved very little. As far as being resourceful & making the best out of a bad situation then I've got to give them credit.
WCW gave away free tickets for Nitro & I know that Wrestlemania VIII had a large number in attendance that never paid a dime. It's better than empty seats, right? Knowing what people feel about TNA & their insistence of never giving them a chance whatsoever this is the least surprising news in the world. The company would be insane to mention that though when quoting attendance figures just like WCW & WWF would have been. God only knows what those casual fans think when they read the actual wrestling fans' opinion of the likes of TNA & RAW; usually being the same guys screaming out for Attitude Era II.
Sting has reached that iconic stage when any belt is simply beneath him. Belts are for the guys in their prime working 24/7.
I work a low paid job which is the kind of job you warn your kids about if they don't try hard at school and we've been warned several times by our employer & the union about the consequences of posting offensive/illegal content on social media. It blows my mind that anyone who has aspirations of a high profile career would put out something like she has done in those tweets.
If Angle really wants back in WWE then his best shot is to quit TNA; do other things & wait until they call him which they eventually will. He won't just walk back in there, that's been obvious for a long time. If he accepts he will only go back on their terms he will get what he wants.
From TNA's perspective, there is nothing more than can be done with Angle & it's in their best interests to part ways too. I for one appreciate Kurt's contribution to that company. Personal issues aside he gave them 100% when he could I respect him far more than the other legends who started bashing them once they realised they weren't going to get easy money for a half-hearted effort anymore.
When you think back to the '90s when you had McMahon; Heyman & Bischoff running the biggest promotions you realise how lucky we actually were. All of them had their own strengths & weaknesses & brought something unique to the industry & the world of wrestling would have been a lot more boring without either one of them. I enjoy the fact that some grudges & strong opinions from those times haven't just gone away.
Hart Foundation definitely belong in HOF (both tag team & stable) but I couldn't help but laugh at Bret insisting he will boycott future ceremonies if Owen isn't inducted...until Neidhart & himself get put in. Typical Bret.
" I don't know if the match he complained about was the tag match mentioned above but it sounds like it was. This was referred to as Ciampa's tryout match so it may have been Gargano's tryout match as well"
I think the the source was just bitching about "indie stars". We all know how WWE employees have a fair, balanced & completely respectful view of guys who got themselves over in the independents.
I'm sure HTM was more than aware of the problems he & Piper had since he had a website 10 years ago where he used to bash just about everyone in the industry & Piper got it worse than most. Never really read Roddy returning the favour but HTM said a lot of nasty things about him as well as issuing empty threats. Don't really want to go down the road of bringing things like this up because a recently deceased wrestler had issues with other wrestlers during his life but HTM is a sneaky, two-faced, despicable person.
