By now, they must have realized that even fixing these holes only seems to protect newly purchased phones from the dev team (and also, I suppose, the phones of those too impatient to wait for the dev team's tools). They will release 3.0.1, and the dev team's tools will allow you to upgrade to 3.0.1 while keeping your jailbreak and your unlock, so what have they really gained (except, like I said, protecting newly purchased phones). It would seem to me, that with this being the case, Apple has the most to gain by delaying the release of 3.0.1 and thereby keeping its newest product from being jailbroken and unlocked by the general population. Unlocked and Activated, just not jailbroken. Maybe "Update" does not require activation, while "Restore" does.
