well, i'm excited for the Oscars for one reason: the "dark knight" rule. because of the epic FAIL on the part of the academy last year in not nominating chris nolan's "the dark knight" for Best Picture, this will be the first year ever that they'll allow 10 nominees to be considered for the award. Also Best Picture can be an animated film for the first time. "UP!" gets my vote.

Boo this man! nah, not really though. after having discussed movies with you at length, i have a better idea of the stuff you're into and "Let The Right One In" is certainly not your type of movie. for me though, it doesn't get much better. i am a huge unabashed fan of all things minute and understated in cinema. i like sad little foreign movies about shit that most just scratch their heads at. and honestly, i think this movie being made is a travesty. but its really quite hard to get all upset about it because its just the way things are in Hollywood. and i've totally come to terms with it. so fuck it. just one more movie for me to ignore.

Yeah, I was delightfully surprised with Green Lantern. That had a great voice cast and a great story to boot. Can't say I'm all that excited about the live-action film though mostly because of Ryan Reynolds.

honestly, i think tarantino should stay away from lucrative sequels. its just not his style. he's been consistently churning out great original films for like fifteen years and if inglourious basterds is any proof, he's still got the piss and vinegar in him to do it for another fifteen. the only sequel/rehash project i could approve of in his future would be a sequel to grindhouse (which is supposedly in the works) with him doing his portion as the rumored poorly dubbed kung fu film. that would be bitchin.
