It will only benefit gypsy contractors that do sub standard work. The kind of work that won't pass inspection. The kind of work that isn't up to code. Home owners can already do any repair or remodel project they want. Only a contractor has to be licensed and bonded. Both have to get permits for certin things like elecrtical and plumbing. Clueless do it yourselfers that scab stuff in don't get permits. It won't change anything in that respect. So what's the point? Permits and inspections aren't that hard to get or pass, it's not rocket science. If your afraid to do a project because of the permits or the inspection you shouldn't be doing it. Your over your head and should go hire a real contractor. If you want to make it legal for some gypsy to rip you off then go ahead and vote yes. That is all this measure will change. I love the property tax measues Bill wrote but everything else since has been sponsered by some lobbyist. It's how Bill makes his living.
