We have seen offices remodeled and torn down again within 6mos. This also is riduculous. There is no need for this wastefulness. Another waste is the number of Supervisors, untrained when they are "given" the position. There are too many "chiefs" there and most of them are unqualifie to be a supervisor. I should have taken mine to EEO and harrassment when I was there. The comments and expectations were out of control, however being a loyal employee for many years, I stayed to do my job, until 2007. By that time I was almost praying for the layoff. Micron has changed over the last 10 years. Joe and Ward knew how to run the company and I sure did miss them! 1500 more in the area, is going to make looking for work that much harder for the rest of us!
Of course this is going to have major impact. Many of us from 2007 are still looking for work! Jobs are out there, however for most of the employees getting laid-off, they will be the "old-timers", who are going to have an extra hard time finding a job. They age has no bearing...hah! Micron needs to cut down on their spending money for trips to all the other sites. It is a big waste of money. I know one person who took a 1 year trip to Virginia and our hard earned bonus, went to pay his rent on a 3 bedroom apartment, for just himself! He had this huge place as his family didn't want to move. Trips like this are a huge waste of Micron's money. The interoffice remodels is another huge waste!
