I am a happy atheist. I don’t care for most religions. But you know what? That is just my opinion and my beliefs. Anyone and everyone has the right to practice their religion or to not practice any religion even if I don’t like it. I know… crazy isn’t it! And they can continue to practice their religion in any way they choose as long as it doesn’t infringe on my basic human rights. Last I checked, contraception is not a basic human right.

I don’t like it when religious zealots attempt to legislate their beliefs and force them upon all of society, and I don’t believe that forcing those same religious zealots to conform to my beliefs is right either.

Tolerance is a funny thing people… it works both ways.

Why wait until someone commits a crime then? We could just swab everyone in the state so that their DNA is on file, 'just in case'. Think_About_It, we could catch your serial rapist before they have committed any other crime! The problem is that we all have a right to privacy, and there is nothing more personal and private than our DNA. Where will this government invasion into our private lives end?

I don’t believe in hand outs for anyone. If the homeless need assistance, then they should be prepared to work for it. Even drug addicted alcoholic grade school drop outs have the ability to pick up trash, paint over graffiti, sweep sidewalks, wash windows in public buildings, etc. Let’s put them to work doing whatever tasks they are capable of in exchange for food, shelter and clothing. If we can convert them from useless wastes of resources to contributing members of society, then I don’t mind helping them. Until then, their lives will continue to be exactly what they make of them.

These will be the same people that complain about not being able to find a job, then blame the government and everyone but themselves for their problems. I have an idea... Let’s put an initiative on the ballot to ship these brainiacs off to China.

Taxpro, I did not state anywhere in my post that I drive or plan to drive in the manner that you have applied to me. The comment I left simply gave my opinion of the current regulations, the reasons for my opinion, and an example. Please notice in my post that most of what I wrote indicates that I do not condone unsafe driving. The tone of your writing seems to imply that you have taken the example that I posted, made the assumption that I was the subject of the example, and then proceeded to judge me based solely on your inaccurate assumption. I wish you well. Peace.

I believe that if public safety is the main issue, then enforce SAFETY and ticket / jail unsafe drivers. The fact that a speed limit is posted doesn't mean that everyone who drives at or below that posted speed limit are safe drivers and everyone who drives over the speed limit are dangerous.

From my experience, the dangerous, unsafe drivers are usually pretty obvious whether they are going over or under the speed limit. In my opinion, police should not be enforcing the letter of the law, but rather the spirit of the law. I feel that unsafe driving should be enforced and fined much more harshly than it is, and those who are exceeding the speed limit or maybe didn't quite come to a complete stop before making their right turn, etc, but who are nonetheless driving safely should be left alone.

My 2 cents.

I agree that speed limits like most rules of the road are there for a very good reason. The trouble is that many of the reasons that these rules exist don't always apply.

Example: If the speed limit is 30, its raining, a nearby theatre is just letting out, and lots of people darting about trying not to get wet, the actual SAFE speed limit might be more like 10-15. Take the same location, make it dry at 4 in the morning when no one is out, then the safe speed might be 40-50.

What if the owner of the "God Squad" car is a lousy and inconsiderate driver who disobeys the rules of the road and generally causes havoc with other drivers? The other drivers on the road who are on the receiving end of this rudeness could easily mistake the "God Squad" vehicle for a Best Buy vehicle and begin to view the retailer less favorably.

This is only one of several scenarios where Best Buy might be harmed by the misuse of their trade mark. Companies must protect their trade marks to ensure that the work they put into building their image is not undermined, even if unintentionally, by others misusing their brand.

If the lion wasn't turned into hamburger, how many cute, cuddly creatures would it have killed? Would the protesters have sent bomb threats to the lion?
Humans are omnivores at (or near) the top of the food chain. We are meant to eat whatever we can catch. This guy just happened to 'catch' a lion. Seems pretty natural to me, though I would have to agree with a previous poster that carnivores don’t taste very good. ;)

Driving a corolla for 25 years? Born two miles from the accident scene? Um, is your corolla a light-colored 90s model? jk. ;)
