Race Relations Project : What about the men?

What about men? Men are just the same as women except the different body types and how the body is form. Although we handle situations different than some females would, I honestly believed that were easily influenced by culture as well as them. Matter fact scratch that statement I’ve just made. Everyone is influenced by the media in some way. When growing up as a youngster you can’t tell me that one did not look up to a famous person or leading actor and wanted to be like them. I know I did and still have dreams of becoming or being better than a certain person. Today in economy class, my professor was giving a speech about monopoly and how diamonds have a huge affect on love. You know when seeing a commercial about diamonds it’s usually the soul mate giving it to the other portraying how they feel about that certain person. Well in that class he was telling us and showing us clips of how the media basically says the best gift showing love is giving a diamond. So our professor told us that he asked his wife what she wanted for their twenty fifth anniversary. It happens to be a diamond ring, so he told her does she want a perfect diamond or a unique diamond. The difference is that a perfect diamond is shaped up and is not rare and unique diamond meaning only you have that certain kind and it cost thousands of dollars more. She didn’t know so she picks the perfect diamond. He told her the difference and she picks the unique diamond. So he asked the boys in the class, if the media portrayed copper as big as they do diamonds and diamonds was falling under the radar, what would we choose to buy? About all of us said copper and one answered copper because “monkey see, monkey do, and you would be stupid not to chase after what monkey like”. Showing that whatever the media or society is boasting about. You will see a huge drift in how we human beings will start to focus more on things like that. Myself is a victim of doing this as well. I want all the fancy things that I see on TV and you can’t blame me for not wanting them. They are kind of establishing your social norm in society. Showing how long your money is rappers would say.

Race Relations Project : Women

I think Hollywood does really portray women to be skinny, pretty, and flawless. Total blame can’t be placed on Hollywood though because everyone has their own free will. To do what he or she pleases to do. Let’s be honest though no woman is perfect, they all have flaws. For this reason some men find beauty in women’s flaws. Young girls are at an age where their trying to find themselves and I feel like media puts a lot of pressure on them to look a certain way. This is probably why they start starving themselves and working out like crazy! It’s hard for them to look past these “perfect” women and find beauty in themselves. So they just keep comparing themselves to these women and pushing hard to look that way. Beauty should be based on what’s on the inside not how good someone looks. Some women are unbelievably beautiful but their dumb as shit. Who wants to introduce that type of woman to their family?! NO ONE! Maybe if there wasn’t so much pressure on girls to look a certain way they wouldn’t develop the attitudes they have towards looking good. The way girls think and act is because they want men to notice them. So they dress in showy outfits, tan all the time, go to the gym 24/7, and get implants. All this is ok if you do it in moderation minus the implants. This is another thing that helps women get better bodies. They see celebrities getting implants or having certain body parts that are better than theirs. So they pay crazy amounts of money to have the “best” body around. Although I don’t think many women think of the complications that come along with surgery. There is always a story in the media of women who got plastic surgery and it came out wrong; leaving their body with more imperfections than they had before. In conclusion, women need to find beauty in themselves to be comfortable in their own body. I don’t think anyone should have influence over what women believe in. Inner beauty and comfort ability in oneself is such an important aspect that every women should have. The way women dress or look shouldn’t have an influence on the type of person they become. Men find it more attractive when women have a great personality and a great sense of humor. Making them more beautiful than they think they are.

Race Relations Project : Prom or No Prom: Just Don't Let the Queer Students Dance Together

This story is a little ridiculous that the board says it’s a “distraction to the educational process”. The students are going to PROM there’s nothing educational about that. It’s a time to relax from all the work and have fun with your friends. No one goes to judge who comes into the prom with who. The girls are worried about looking good for their dates and the guys just want to drive nice cars into prom. The American Civil Liberties Union gave the school enough time to change the rules about same-sex couples. Instead the punished the entire school and cancelled the prom. This isn’t fair for the other students who didn’t participate in wanting to take a partner of the same sex; basically, the majority of the school. I feel horrible because students are going to be mad at her when I don’t believe she did anything wrong. I think they should’ve just changed the rules and said she can bring a girl date. When I was in high school girls brought girl dates and nobody made a fuss about it. Everyone was worried about dancing and taking pictures the whole night. What confuses me so much is that gay marriages are accepted in society today but schools still have a problem with this. This is also going to bring bad media to the school and they can’t point fingers at anyone because this was their decision. So, any negative media that comes from this is in their hands to resolve. She should’ve just showed up to the prom with another girl what would have they done then? Make her go home? Then the school has the nerve to say, “private citizens will hold an event for juniors and seniors.” What kind of shit is that? I hope the students understand she was just standing up for what she believed was right. The same thing anyone else would do if they were put into that situation. At the end of this, I totally believe this whole situation could’ve been avoided. But instead of home of the free, it’s more like inaccuracy of freedom. I feel as though the girl could have gone to prom with anyone. What the hell it’s her moments so let the young lady shine. I wonder if not telling the school and just showing up. She would’ve been safe unless they cancel the prom when they find out lol.

Race Relations Project : I Reckon She Can Hit

This is truly a great story, with the first female head football high school coach ever. Especially with this being in my hometown, Washington, D.C. Now this is terrific story don’t get me wrong, but with this being an urban area, politics, mass media, and football is taking serious in the DMV; however this can also end up dreadful. I’m a hundred percent positive that she must come up a winner to gain respect of others. She has gain the respect and confidence from Coolidge High athletics director if she was given the job, but we all know that there’s a lot of pressure towards Natalie Randolph if she isn’t a proven winner. With that said and with knowing the kids and how immature they can be towards her on the field. She must ignore the comments and be that strong women she has been and is today. People think that it’s not a big deal being a women high school football coach, believe me it is. With I being a football player and currently on Penn State football team, I know what it’s like and what is said towards ladies when we are just chit chatting. Don’t take this wrong ladies but it’s just boys being boys. The hardest part has yet to come for her. Like getting the players and parents to buy in what she is willing to bring to the program. When I was home my uncle who coaches for another D.C high school, didn’t take the gutsy move from Coolidge serious. Not only him, basically 75% thought negative of it. Although he never doubted her of winning he was just concern about her process with going through this. He knows how frustrating getting teenage boys to respect you can be. I was asked the other day if I was coach at any level from high school and college would I accept her as a person. Of course I said yes, but her as my coach just couldn’t be. Why, I don’t even know or have an accuse to tell you. When passing out questionnaire about the situation to my teammates, we were asked would we ever want to have a female as a head coach or position coach. Majority was answered no and the ones they said yes had to answer why and it was sexist comments. I wish her the best and I hope she change not only my mind but the world mind that ladies can coach as well.

Race Relations Project : Why Is This Racist? Really...

This article actually made me laugh, like why can’t they just play in a regular league. Or are they not good enough? If I was a white "all-American" I would not want to play on such a team. This man is promoting a racial team and doesn't believe has being racist at all. Where is his head? And anyways where is he going to find Americans that are completely Caucasian? Nowadays everybody is mixed with another race! I personally wouldn’t want to play on a team like this just because his views are wrong and anyone who doesn’t see that is blind. If u feel u need to belittle urself that much to get on a basketball team then u probably shouldn’t even be playing. Players should be able to adapt to certain situations and take the good with the bad. Not give up and start playing on an all white team. For the video he doesn’t think he’s being racist at all!!! He's directly promoting a racist business idea that he believes will work. I fell the only people who will attend the games are people who are racist or just want something to do. It kind of reminded me of people who think they’re not racist because they have black friends. LOL! wtf! Id actually love to see how many people would support this "all white" basketball team. I feel there would be hardly any supporters but hey if this Lewis guy is actually crazy enough to start such a team why wouldn’t people attend the games. The thing I find the most racist though is how he says players have guns and attack the fans. I feel as if he’s talking about black individuals. Just because one person acts out doesn’t mean their entire race would do the same thing. Lewis shouldn’t start a whole new league because one thing went wrong. How about we work on ways to fix the problems not just start new ones. Let’s be honest skin color doesn’t make a basketball team good player/players make a team. Lastly, I don’t think a league think this will ever come about. I feel it won’t be socially accepted in America today. Although such a topic will cause great controversy, just want Americans love another thing to bitch about. However, such a topic will cause a considerable amount of attention. Things like this are exactly what the media loves to talk about, so here's one more controversy we'll be seeing on the news next.

Race Relations Project : Men and Women. Hmm...Are We Really This Different?

To me I find this topic kind of funny, because sex is not only power but as you can see its sells. Whether its sex toys, porn, protection, or the media portraying it. Sex is not only life, but it sells and who is to blame Douglas Hines for making something so fake, but yet so real. You can’t knock his hustle he’s getting money for a sex doll that’s people are actually buying. It seem when reading this topic that others will be shocked, but get real this is America, people invent things every day. And if Douglas Hines didn’t invent the sex doll, I guarantee this the next human mind would have. To be honest if it was me I wish I created such great idea. Especially since his stacks (money) are piling up by the day. Now with that said I didn’t agree with the sex doll as a sex partner, but I did agree with the theory behind it. This dude is a genius for this one. To the men who buy the sex dolls, I think that’s ridiculous that you have to scoop that low just to get a nut off. Not only is it disgusting, but have you ever heard this phrase “that there’s that perfect someone for every person”. That’s why it’s a certain logic to that phrase. Now if the men are scooping this low to buy this doll, what’s next, having to molest a real person just for your own satisfaction? That’s the question I have for them. Whether they agree with my statement or not, that’s how I see it. And you couldn’t change my mind about that unless you have an absolute reason for the sex doll. Ladies you know your doll is coming as well. That’s just how this world operates. Now if u asks me would I feel the same way about the doll if it was a man for lady? To be straight forward no, because it’s the same as having a vibrator for themselves or a dildo; just with a puppet as man with the dildo attached. It’s just like gays; it seems people are calmer with lesbians than gay men. That’s this so called society we live in today. Would I ever get a sex doll? No, because that’s stupid and I don’t want to brag but I can pretty much get the real deal anytime!

Race Relations Project : Racism Looks Pretty Mild on This Side of the Atlantic

The clip involving European racism was mainly about how the denial of people, mainly European soccer fans, brought about in an environment such as a soccer match, has caused explosive extremisms in the stands. Specific black players and other “dark skinned” athletes have been targeted with direct racism from fans from both home and away teams. For example, for Sicilian’s team Messina, player Mark Zoro, fans made a banner reading “Peanuts and bananas are the pay for your infamy” causing him to stop play by picking up the ball and threatening to leave the game. Similarly for Barcelona, player Samuel Eto’o, he was presented with “monkey” chants every time he touched the ball in a game which caused him to stop play as well. As for why many cases of avert displays racism like the afore mentioned are found at these soccer games happen because there has been no such event like Civil Rights Movement comparable to that in the U.S. Another reason being there are so few black Europeans. I have noticed that many European countries contain many far-right political parties which have been known to dehumanize as well as teach a sense of fear of black and other ethnic or multi-cultured immigrants which when mixed with the excitement, and potential explosive environment of a European soccer game, can lead to such racist acts. Acts carried out by other coaches and players to me are unacceptable and so the fact that they let the then French coach Luis Aragones continue to coach and only have fined him $5,000 for his racial slurs tells me that there is not enough control over the organized soccer league and cruel behavior is enabled. Hateful actions done on the field as well as in the stands are completely overlooked and that is wrong. Europe’s national soccer federation has taken no responsibility. Apparently FIFA has left rules regarding behavior of fans and players up to the decisions of the individual country; however because of the upcoming World Cup to be carried out, FIFA’s president has made rules that will penalize teams whose players, fans, and whoever that engages in inappropriate racial behavior. While those are positive steps being taken to help mitigate racial conduct, I do not appreciate it to the fullest because it was only brought on because the World Cup is so heavily broadcasted internationally. I found this article interesting because not only is it dealing with the sport of soccer but a more deeply rooted issue of racial prejudices that have stemmed from immigration flows and the introduction of blacks and other races into a pool of scared, white Europeans. Resolutions are probably near on the horizon but like most social issues, violence, deaths, and hurt will undoubtedly take place before

Race Relations Project : Animals vs. Humans vs. Welfare Cheats

After reading this article, I am shocked that Governor Bauer has said such harsh words. He needs to think about what he's going to say before he says it. Just because those families weren’t born into a wealthy families doesn’t give anyone the right to judge them. As my grandmother always told me if someone’s in need you should help them. Welfare was meant for those in need so it should be given to people especially if they have large families to take care of. In today’s society, American’s abuse the power to get help from others. Americans sign up for welfare when they really don’t need it and cheat the system. This is making it harder for people to get help when they really need financial support. Although, I don’t feel they should be called “animals,” some are ashamed to even ask for help. I feel it’s wrong when families take advantage of the welfare system to get money from them when they don’t have jobs. Most people will get on welfare because their lazy and don’t want to take care of their family. When you’re struggling with money problems you shouldn’t have large families because it makes things harder on you. In today’s society now a lot of people are going through economic problems and are reaching out for help. It’s crazy that people will look down on others when their in need. Since he’s a governor he probably came from money so he wouldn’t understand the circumstances people go through. Instead of talking down on the problem he should be finding ways to help reduce the problem. Also, maybe he’ll see that their not all “drug addicts” and need to get tested before they can obtain welfare. I truly believe though you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover because there are people today who have a lot of money but don’t flaunt it. Governor Bauer was way out of line to come at individuals the way he did, with such disrespect. He’s supposed to representing our country and he talking down on the individuals that live in it. He doesn’t know the current situations those people are going through now. Maybe both parents lost their jobs or something worse happened. He should bite his tongue because karma is a bitch and when something happens to him (god forbid) it’s going to be one of those “animals” that helps him!!

Now if they're able to get on the plane I’m pretty sure that security had to check so I think we can relax just a bit. And with 911 years ago, security has to be the top priority before a boarding any plane. But as United States citizen you don’t think like that when it’s happening right there and now. You just try your best to protect yourself and others. It’s easy to go back and discuss the what if dealing with situations like this. But it’s harder to actually go through it and be as normal as possible as if nothing just occurred. I just wish that even in air planes we can feel as safe as possible when not even on ground. But hey its life, it’s supposed to be up and downs. And to the Jews, Iraqi’s, etc I apologize to the way most of act when we see you guys on air planes. I know the United States is home of the free and land of the brave, but it’s really not on planes sorry!

I have a story when, on my way to the Capital One Bowl me and six other teammates. We saw multiple Iraqi’s. They were dress different so I first reaction was to stare them down until we landed. I’m pretty sure they knew we were looking and it was uncomfortable to them, but we had no choice. That’s just the society we are living in and trust on air planes is a no no when outsiders aboard the plane. Now let it be know if it was girl Iraqi’s or etc.... I don’t think we would have been that uncomfortable. Why, I have no clue that’s a question I would like to be answered from someone else who feels the same way.

To be honest, I kind of would’ve acted the same way if I was on that plane as well. You don’t try to, but the world we are living in its just best to always have your guards up. Who's to know that we or I suppose to know that he's praying? It's not ignorance it’s just the fact that were not familiar with other cultures and the way they go about things. And with that said it happened in an air plane, when just about everyone in the plane is kind of nervous in away. When seeing someone dress like that in a plane or doing something that you’re unfamiliar with, you will kind of react in a way that you’re not usually acting.

The comments said by Reid, had to affect our President, but when Obama started running to become president he knew that racist remarks were going to come his way. I'm pretty sure when Harry Reid made the remarks, he knew that the media was going to eat this up. So thats on him. But whether you like it or not Obama is our leader and is doing a pretty good job at it as well. Obama Obama Obama Obama Obama hahahahhaha
