Mis managed wars I think not, if Rumsfeld had not decided to limit the original amount of troops in Iraq and had increased it to somewhere in the 225000-250000 troop range no insurgency would have occurred. So yes the civilian leadership may have been wrong but if you are implying the military mismanaged the wars then I have to disagree with you 100%

KATU - Portland, OR : $4 at the pump equals $11 billion for Exxon\'s first quarter | KATU.com - Portland News, Sports, Tra

If you read where Exxon's profits came from you would realize that the vast majority came from overseas. Their CEO said something and I'm not quoting it but it is very close that only 6% of their profits came from gasoline. These companies deserve to make a profit, the have been forced to look in dangerous parts of the world (i.e Nigeria, Venezuela, etc) for oil and they have to insure that their employees are safe. The real problem here is that the number of operating refineries has been cut in half in the last 25 years, so the excess crude cannot be refined into the various products at nearly a fast enough rate.

I could not have said it any better. Everyone likes hopping on the anti-oil company bandwagon but in actuality the gas taxes imposed by the feds, states, and some local authorities are by far the larger portion of the cost of an actual gallon of gas then what these companies see as a profit.

So you are suggesting that people die so that the broke federal government will pay for it? Please you are out of your mind. "Pass the Buck." apparently is your motto, why force the nations tax payers to build a bridge that only a small percentage of the nation uses.

I guess they just don't build bridges like they used to. I don't know if you have kept up with any infrastructure news in this country but we have terrible grades by the American Society of Civil Engineers. So instead of telling me that wow we should just wait until it fails and people die maybe we should do something. Apparently more people need to die in Minneapolis on the I-35 bridge collapse for you to care.
