Calm down LemmyRamone. Actually as an ACTUAL employee of a humane society in this area, I can say it depends on the humane society as to if they allow community service. We do at ours. So calling people ignorant without facts from more than just the one you volunteer at is kinda throwing your argument in the toilet.

I get what you are saying, just think you need to consider how you are coming off with it.

This does seem like its trying to drum up sympathy for the "non violent illegals". I agree with above posters. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. I know several immigrants who find things like this to be insulting to them and all they had to go thru to come in legally.

If the bus driver asked about both dogs, and both were labeled as service animals they couldn't be barred. They can only take action if the dogs behave in a manner that is objectionable. In other words, after something happens. As for what a tiny service dog can do, they can do several things actually. There are some that alert for seizures. There are some that alert to blood sugar levels in diabetics. There are some used for anxiety cases that allow humans who would be home bound to be able to get out once in a while. As an animal professional, I wonder what set the rottie off. But it doesn't change what happened. I feel badly for BOTH sides. I'm sure the woman is devastated. And the man probably feels horrible. Does the dog deserve to die for his deed, not if this is a first time offense.

Allen, hate to tell you this, but you can get it done for VERY cheap. Several animal shelters in the are will do it for free, or make payment arrangements for you to do it at no initial cost. My shelter has done this for people, and its roughly $100 for a 75 pound dog. The payments were $10 a month. Vets will do it for there regular customers who have no money, but an established payment record for them, either by setting up payments or doing it for free. As for some other postings, I personally have been involved in getting several animal abuse cases prosecuted. The level of what you have to do to be charged is pretty major. As for the fleas and allergies, I am also involved in both the show world and dog rescue. I have dealt with hundreds of animals with allergies. In this area, it is VERY possible to keep your dog free of parasites simply bathing them. My own animals don't get flea treatments on them, ever. They are bathed every 3 months or so, or as needed. They don't have a single flea on them. A flea comb and a bath, its not asking much.

I agree ToyotaMafia. I have no issue with freedom of the press, but there should be some limits on some of the tactics used. Some of the people I have met over the years have told me some interesting stories about things the paparazzi do to get the shot. Personally, I would end up sued immediately and completely broke if I were a celeb trying to live my life thru all that

I am worried that the eco system might take a bite from this. Nutria and Opossum were not native either, and look at the damage from them. The Nutria were let loose from fur farms as well. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with fur farms. But letting them go is cruel. Either they die a painful death in the wild, or survive and our native wildlife takes a hit. People need to THINK before they act

I agree, its a Holiday. And one that is very important to a LOT of people. If somebody really had that big a problem with it, they could have asked the guy to change it a bit so it wasn't too "scary" for the adults passing by. Lets face it, its the adults making the fuss..... you know the ones who went to haunted houses where "Mr Jones" jumped out of a coffin in his living room to give you candy?!
