My wife's family is from the model country, Canada. I've got news for everyone, health care in Canada is not free. The Nancy Pelosis and Harry Reids of this world would like you to think that it would signal that start of Utopia. Let me let you in on a little secret. My father in law is a hard working construction worker. He is penalized for being hard working by having the province of Ontario pay for the leaches that decide not to work. You would think that he would at least get the free care that everyone talks about. But did you know that he has to pay for his own prescription plan, his own vision plan and if he does have to go into the hospital he is charged for any disposables that he has used when he is discharged. Now when I say disposable, those would be bandages, tubing, crutches... How does that sound for free? I am not sure if this is still happening, but 2 years ago the Ontario government was closing hospitals on a rotating basis because they didn't have the money to keep them all open. Hope you didn't need that emergency room that was near you! Oh yeah, and his effective tax rate is approaching 60% on a blue collar salary! Socialized care has been tried many times and has failed every time. Why do the pompous leaders in our government think the outcome of the experiment would be different this time?
