I am so grateful to hear the story behind the LFL of Shepard Path and can't wait to share this article with my guests, who during their visit saw it on one of their walks, and then were actually present at the LFL when the firefighters were there putting out the fire. One of my young guests even took a charred black key as a momento, and was terribly sad she did not have a 'before' photo of the LFL she saw ... so I would appreciate it if one could be posted/linked with this story so they can perhaps be inspired to start something in their community. I am pleased to hear another LFL will be appearing soon, I have a few books I will gladly leave for the younger set to enjoy ...

public lands means that what is on it is owned by us all, not collectors who want to sell it for a profit

I'm not sure where you got your information, however, it seems you're adding to the confusion ... the group Washington United for Marriage says :

SHORT VERSION :
vote YES on Referendum 74
vote NO on Initiative 1192

After the legislature’s successful passage of Marriage Equality in Washington State this year Republican Attorney General Candidate Stephen Pidgeon drafted Initiative 1192, which reverses the same-sex marriage law. This initiative defines marriage as being between one man and one woman. This initiative, along with Referendum 74, are both attempts at revoking the accomplishments of the Washington State Legislature and Governor this year in providing for equal rights for all Washingtonians. It is expected that both Referendum 74 and Initiative 1192 will make it to the ballot this fall. That being the case, it is crucial that you let your community know how to vote in order to protect marriage equality for all. If you see Referendum 74 on the ballot, vote YES. If you see Initiative 1192 on the ballot, vote NO. Show the anti-gay movement how Washington voters feel about equal rights.

afraid is the wrong description, rights should never be voted upon so that the bigotry of the day does not take away anyone's rights (for example, it wasn't long ago that it was against the law for a black person to marry a white person, and we know that was only law because of bigotry)

the above 'short and long version' is copy/paste from the Washington group United for Marriage ... they support Marriage Equality for all, so, with a YES on Ref. 74 and NO on In. 1192 you too will be voting to support everyone's right to marry ... I agree, the wording will make for MUCH confusion ... so cross post the above everywhere you can !

you say "choose to sleep with" as if that is ALL that marriage is about ... think about it

you can choose to accept what others do or not ... from burning the bible to beating their children / spouses to drugs and any other social issues that might rise your ire ... however, what you, as in 'our society,' cannot do is force your choice and style of behavior on others through a vote
