GazetteOnline.com : Payne may leave - if Lickliter goes

Are stories even read through before posting? Ocahcing in a quotation. This little input box even puts a red underscore under it to tell me it is not spelled correctly. There is no way anyone read through this before posting.

GazetteOnline.com : Iowa's jobless rate edges up to 6.7%

The repayment should go toward our ballooning national debt (thanks to both parties). It wasn't money we had to begin with anyway. We are borrowing ourselves into a death spiral we will never get out of and we are going to take the rest of the world with us. Then it won't matter what jobs we prop up with our excessive government spending.

For $135 a month, $1620 a year for cable and internet service you would think they would provide better service than they currently do. Issues like this, On Demand not working or freezing all of the time and slower than advertised internet speed.

Honestly, anyone close to retirement or actually retired should have been in a more sound financial state and not had funds tied up in the stock market. That is a horrible financial decision on their part. The older you get, the less risk you should have investments in.

Yes, you have to hit the brakes to make that turn now onto Bever Ave due to the tight curve. Before they changed the cement curbs on the intersection you could fly straight through, but not anymore.

GazetteOnline.com : Boy in critical condition after bike strikes SUV

The part where it was an eye "witness" account? If someone runs into the side of YOUR car of course you aren't going to stop right away let alone know something hit you at the point of impact. Also, if you are going the speed limit you will not be able to stop right away. If the kid went under the SUV he would get run over like a speed bump, that's the only logical scenario that would play out given those variables. "Police say that Malik Perry, 10, of Cedar Rapids was riding his bike northbound across Bever Avenue and hit the side of a red, 1998 Ford Explorer."

If the kid went under the SUV he would get run over like a speed bump, that's the only logical scenerio that would play out given those variables. Did Savoy have a speed gun to tell if he didn't slow down? Knowing that turn's angle you HAVE to slow down to make it after they re-did it recently, especially in an SUV. 3rd Ave is 30 mph and Bever is 25 mph. Also, given Savoy's long record of legal issues (public knowledge on the internet including: guilty plea for animal abuse, many traffic violations, driving with no insurance, without a license and a general disregard for the law.) I am not sure the public reading this article should pass judgment based on his account alone.
