I thought I read somewhere that 2K has added 40-man rosters and waivers as well...If that's the case, I'm very surprised they did not mention this at all.

" I wouldn't say that it's a completely new engine, but there are definitely some areas that we went in and started from scratch." Didn't they claim they did this last year? And wasn't this one of the excuses as to why 2K9 was a disappointment? My God...they are at it again!

pastapadre.com : New Screenshots for MLB 2K10

I don't think 2K ever had a problem with the "look" of the game. In still shots, their baseball product always has a solid visual appeal. I remember people getting psyched about 2K9 after looking at the screens of Alex Gordon, etc. Once it's in motion - that's where the issues arise.

pastapadre.com : MLB 2K10 Removes Check Swings

Uh...because the person personally playing the game from Operation Sports saw that check swings are out. Direct quote from the Q&A: "There is no check swing this year. Obviously, that's a bummer, and I figure next year it will be back on a trigger or something."

Thanks for the info, Jamin. So the devs say check swings are out, yet they apparently made mistakes in the Q&A regarding whether editing of stances, etc. is in the game. In other words, they have no idea what's in their own game? Ronnie doesn't know any info, yet keeps people's hopes up... Meanwhile, consumers are left wondering who's telling the truth and if 2K will actually deliver this year. Not the way 2K should start the baseball season after last year's mess.

Since he's the messenger, it would be beneficial if he actually knew what he was talking about... I can't access OS at work, but was the Q&A with the devs? If that's the case, then it would have been the devs saying check swings are out! This sounds just like it did last year when Ronnie was faced with people asking about a final patch for 2K9. He had none of the answers, waited for the devs to say something, and just allowed people to finally come to the realization no patch was coming. Get ready for it, folks. It could be a repeat of last year.

Think of it this way...a basketball game gets rid of layups. A football game gets rid of stiff arms. A tennis game gets rid of lob shots. None are a huge omission that will ruin the game, but the omissions are definitely noticeable and inexcusable. Each of these components are part of the sport they are supposed to represent. This is a big mistake for a SIM game to make, no matter what 2K's record with baseball games has been in the past. It's just like adding things that aren't there in real life, like they did with the ballparks last year. Unreal that they could do this two years in a row...

pastapadre.com : EA Sticking With Tiger Woods

I can't imagine there will be a lot of promotion for this game.

Seeing as many of the sponsors completely pulled TW from their campaigns, using his name and likeness as the main point of your product seems like financial suicide.

And aside from Tiger himself, this game has become stale on next-gen consoles anyway. TW 11 for 360 and PS3 needs an update when it comes to courses, game modes and AI tournament scoring. Granted, Live Online Tourneys are a fun idea, but the crazy scores that people racked up made it impossible to enjoy.

"Major League Baseball 2K10 includes a lot of what made last year's game special..." So it will include terrible outfield AI, multiple freezing problems, scores in the 20s, horrendous animations (including absent double play animation/collision detection), unreliable stat tracking in Franchise mode...the list could go on and on. "...legendary ball player John Kruk providing an earful of tidbits and opinions." John Kruk - legendary! Wow...Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Jackie Robinson. Those are legendary players. John Freakin' Kruk is not in that category.

"The SHow steals shit from 2k." Who had a single-player mode first? The Show Who had waivers and 40-man rosters first? The Show It works both ways. If something works, other games will try to replicate it. Hell, MVP Baseball had the Hitter's Eye color-coded system for reading pitches back in 2005. 2K stole that idea and is using the pop-up format this year.

What's wrong with that? Just keep playing 09...if you want to continue a Franchise, that means you won't care about new rosters that will be in MLB 10. If you want new rosters, I'm sure someone will upload them, so you can have current ones anyway. Plus, you can save $60. I'm actually considering doing this myself.

Solid list...my only change would be for the "Online Addition." I'm actually enjoying Madden Ultimate Team more than the Online Franchise. Every time I'd get into an Online Franchise, people would drop out and the league would die. With Ultimate Team, at least there's always something to do. The micromanagement, contract shuffling, auctions and weekly deals keep Ultimate Team fresh. At first, I wasn't so sure about it, but after a while it has grown on me.

"I guess I had a good copy." You're the only one then... GameSpot - "Either MLB 2K9 shipped in a half-finished state or the developers have never seen a baseball, much less thrown one around." 1Up.com - "...a game that tries so hard to prove that the series is progressing, but ignores fixing the issues that have plagued it for years: poor defense, sloppy animations, and catering to the home run..." Metacritic - MLB 2K9: 65%, MLB 09 The Show: 90%

Haha...The Show players, jealous of MLB 2K players? I needed a good laugh. MLB 2K9 was the reason I, along with many other baseball fans/game players, bought a PS3. I don't think there's any jealousy. "The outfielders slow down when near the balls landing spot." - Have you played 2K9? This is MUCH more of an issue in that game than in The Show. In fact, I have never had a fly ball issue like that in The Show...hmmm. Thanks for trying...
